1. No Suboxone Clinic in Madison Indiana Historic District

We are the residents of Madison, Indiana. We are writing to petition against the location of the Suboxone clinic in our historic district.

Groups: Recover Together, in collaboration with The Clearinghouse, is planning on placing a drug rehabilitation facility within the center of our tourism, historic district and residential community. This center will allow the dispensing of prescription medications to aid with various types of narcotic dependency. By leasing space at The Clearinghouse, 100 East Second Street, Groups will place drug dependent individuals in a residential area, within one block of a children's park/playground, across the street from Madison's largest public festival and event location and our riverfront. This clinic would also be close to Girls, Inc, and across the street from a retired living facility. In addition, a clinic that prescribes medication for drug treatment and/or pain management would be in direct violation of the Madison Pain Management Clinic Ordinance number 2016-20, enacted December 6, 2016, and therefore is not a permitted use inside this facility.

We understand and agree with providing resources to patients struggling with narcotic dependency. However, the presence of this facility will undoubtedly attract illegal prescription drug trafficking and sales of illegal drugs, physical altercations, loitering in areas surrounding the clinic and increased crimes to this residential and tourist area. Not only will our safety be at jeopardy and property assessments decline, but the surrounding businesses, and eventually the area, will also diminish. Therefore, this drug rehabilitation center should not be located in the Madison Historic District.

2. No Drug Rehab Facility in our Residential Area

We are the residents of North Ivyhurst Road in Amherst, New York. We are writing to petition against the location of the Catholic Health run drug rehabilitation clinic in our residential neighborhood at 910 Millersport Highway in Amherst, New York.

The Catholic Health System is planning on placing a drug rehabilitation facility within our residential community. This center will allow the dispense of prescription medications to aide with various types of narcotic dependency. The residents were never informed about this clinic being placed directly across the street from their homes. This clinic is also close to a daycare, bus stop, and two local parks/playgrounds. We understand and agree with providing resources to patients struggling with narcotic dependency. However, the presence of this facility will undoubtedly attract illicit drug activity, physical altercations, and other types of crimes to this quiet residential street. Not only will our safety be at jeopardy and home assessments decline, but the surrounding businesses, and eventually the area, will also diminish. Therefore, this drug rehabilitation center should be relocated to a more suitable location, such as a commercial area, not a residential street.

We are urging you to please help relocate this drug rehabilitation center to an appropriate commercial area, not at the center of a residential community and across the street from our homes.

3. Support the The ICMIS Program (I Can Make it in Society)

The Icmis Program:
Can a person who has been held liable for the actions of another be rehabilitated? If so, why are we, the people, taxpaying citizens, keeping part of humanity, valuable natural resources, locked up for the rest of their lives?

The I Can Make it in Society Program (Icmis) does not take a position that a person who commits a crime should not be punished. Our goal is to make the public aware of this issue within our society. By no means is this program attempting to undermine the laws of our land or its justice system.

Here in Colorado, someone with appropriate qualifications should make the determination as to adequate length of rehabilitation standards for one committed and held liable for the actions of another. Such qualified professional should set forth a guide plan for successful rehabilitation, thereby empowering a trial court with a necessary tool for its discretionary review of sentencing.

4. Petition Pour Le Retour Et La Rehabilitation Du President Amadou T Toure (Att) Du Mali

5. Review Outrageous Sentencing

I am starting this petition on behalf of my nephew Rodrigues Darden and his friend Quinton Powell. They both was sentenced to 55 years in prison for robbing and shooting someone.

Let me be clear I'm not trying to justify what they did. Yes they was wrong and yes they deserve prison time. But 55 years is outrageous as many people have received less time for murder. My nephew was 22 years old when sentenced to 55 years and Quintion was only 19. They wanted to give them both life but decided on 55 years. In my eyes that is life.

This is not the only case in Florida where judges are handing out outrageous numbers. Again I say I am not trying to justify what they did but to give them 55 years is just crazy!

6. Help rehabilitated felons work in the U.S.

To whom it may concern, my name is Lorenzo Powell Jr. I am 34 yrs. of age born and raised in Atl, GA. I love my city and state more than words can say. But I have a problem, when I was younger I got into my share of trouble, never was good at crime so I got caught a lot for doing wrong.

As a result to my wrongfulness I served my time and completed every program that I had to, I received the first offenders act for my actions and was told if I complete everything without getting into further trouble due to my completion my felony wouldn't be on my record anymore. Well I have found out that this isn't true, I have had several background and credit checks and its on my record. I have paid my debts decades ago and I'm still paying for them now, I can't find a job get a loan,g rant or any type of help to finance my education to help me be a better person for my family and community.

I would like somebody to help me and people like me trying to be better citizens of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the great state of GEORGIA. PLEASE HELP EX-FELONS FIND JOBS, WE ARE HUMAN AND MAKE MISTAKES. THANK YOU AGAIN TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.

8. Save Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre

SA Health Minister, John Hill, on October 9th 2012 made a comment at the opening of a rehabilitation service at the QEH that the future of the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre needed to be looked at.

Later in conversation with Mr Hill, told the City North Messenger "there was always a question about what we do with the Hampstead". "It would make sense to combine the resources of the Hampstead and St Margaret's with an updated QEH," he said.

Mr Hill said it was too early to know what would happen to the Hampstead centre if services were moved to Woodville South.

"What this is about is a conversation," Mr Hill said. "People who are concerned need to become part of the conversation."

We are having that conversation and we wish for the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre to remain where it is.

10. Support new rehabilitation/work programs for veterans and criminals

I'm creating a program that will rehabilitate veterans, criminals and anyone who has a desire to live a mental illness or addictive free life. At the same time clean up communities, reunite families, save tax payers money, lower crime, save city and state on taxes.

This program will change the recovery paradigm because 100% of existing programs focus on the wrong beliefs and are only out for financial gain. This program will not only rehabilitate, but give the individual the means to support themselves.

A great number of rehabilitation facilities are getting compensated only to return the individual back to their communities without any real recovery. The families and the court system are left to deal with the individual and the same problem after paying the bill. This problem will continue to grow if we dont change the paradigm. For too long the beliefs of the people was that recovery was not possible.

This program gives the individual hope, skills, support and preference. These are the key ingredients to success. Families, communities and the court system are feed up with repeated offenders. Its time we start the recovery process over and start changing the paradigm one individual at a time.......

Historical Overview to raise funds to re-open the Youth Life Skills Training Centre

A collaborative outreach programme between Magistrate Hennie Strydom of the Germiston Child Court, Social Welfare and the Germiston business district of Gauteng occurred, begun in 1985, with the following aims:

• to remove the underprivileged and / or abused youth from the streets
• orientate such youth to a more normal, home-like environment
• give youth instruction in life-skills and –orientation
• rehabilitate youth, utilising natural elements and extra murals
• give youth practical work skills and training for potential future employment
• instil a sense of self-worth and moral principles in the youth to enable them to become valued and productive members of their communities

Using positive re-enforcement methods, the training centre evolved into a full time commitment and an independent, semi- private institution with experienced staff and care givers to meet the challenges ahead.

Learners benefited from sponsor donations and service agreements. Skilled learners leaving the training centre were in demand by various industries due to their practical experience and training received, whilst still being monitored for an additional year by both business management and the training centre’s social welfare officers.

In 2010, with its associated social ills partly due to the FIFA World Cup event, the industry of crime and drugs became problematic for us. The penetrations of drugs into the training centre lead to some false allegations being made to divert attention from a problem amongst some of our learners. This was brought to the attention of the police and SANCA by ourselves. Their immediate intervention and assistance legally was sought by us.

SANCA (South African National Council for Alcohol & Drug dependence) complied with their legal requirement and in line with our requests.

However things went wrong because of several factors.

Due to the issue being emotive, and minimal to no investigation on the part of the South African Police Services being made, the false allegations of 3 learners, likely based on incitement, self-preservation and misinformation lead to the centre’s demise, with sponsor / donor funding coming to a complete standstill (as did the entire facility and training centre).

Now two years later, an acquittal on all charges has been received judicially.

Wrongs affecting the Centre, then current and prospective future learners, the Centre Principal and staff member/s need to be corrected, restitution sought and the training facility (Youth Life Skills Training Centre) re-opened.

12. Justice Gone Wrong: Free Andre Axam

How does society allow a success story – a victory – to end in tragedy?

George Andre Axam was addicted to drugs for more than20 years, before he made up his mind to turn his life around and become again the man his family and his friends knew him to be. Every day in that time, he hustled a life on the streets to support his drug habit.

Twenty years earlier, he had been a loving son, a caring brother, and a devoted father. And then, to everyone’s surprise, he fell prey to drug addiction. He abandoned his children to his mother and father, and became someone his parents, his siblings and his own children hardly recognized as son or brother or father.

It was inevitable that he would become involved with the criminal justice system. Over his 20 year detour he has been convicted of several crimes – all petty, and none worthy of a 15 year sentence:
• He stole several cartons of cigarettes from a store.
• He was arrested for a possession of a very small
amount of cocaine.
• He committed fraud at Home Depot in the amount
of $500.00.
• He fired a hand gun in the air because he feared
for his physical safety.

Admittedly, all of these actions are wrong, but he has never endangered the life of another human being. After serving 2 years and 3 months for the probation violation, federal Judge Marvin Shoob reviewed Andre’s case and circumstances and declared, “the court finds that defendant is a small-time burglar suffering from a decade-long drug addiction, that he’s never been violent, and that he is in need of drug rehabilitation.” (page 5 of 18, Hearing Transcript February 2003). In February 2003, Andre was released by Judge Shoob and placed on probation. He was released and placed on probation and in that window of freedom he demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that he had been rehabilitated.

Drug free, he reconnected with his family and friends. He bought a new home for his family of six sons, one daughter and 4 grandchildren. He became a productive entrepreneur supporting his re-united family with profits from a cleaning business he started while successfully reporting monthly to the probation office following his release.

In that window of freedom he was clearly re-building a lost life. He had a successful and growing business. He counseled his children to learn from his mistakes and not repeat them. He testified to all who would listen, that he was ecstatic to be himself again - the person his father and his siblings and his children knew so well, -- complete with dreams for his business and successful careers for his children. He demonstrated his successful rehabilitation by giving back; working with others who had a drug addiction, leading a Christian life and working very hard at being a good father.

14. Save the Elmstead Rehabilitation Unit

The Elmstead Rehabilitation Unit is an inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation unit at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup. It has over 400 patients, mainly from Bexley, and provides rehabilitation to people with Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, Guillain Barre Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Ataxias and Muscular Dystrophy.

The unit provides vital services. The specialist rehabilitation provided there:

• helps people recover more quickly from a relapse or illness
• helps people maintain their mobility, allowing them to continue working, volunteering and socialising
• allows people to exercise independently in a supportive environment, helping them take control over their condition
• prevents hospital admissions
• enables those that are admitted to leave hospital earlier and in better condition
• provides a place for people to socialise Right now Bexley Care Trust is reviewing the future of the Elmstead Unit.

The Elmstead Unit Campaign Group has formed in response to concern that, in the context of large changes to local health services and financial pressures, the trust will stop or reduce funding for the unit, forcing it to close or reduce its service.

Help us protect the unit and ensure that people with MS and other conditions in Bexley have access to specialist inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Sign our petition now and show Bexley Care Trust how important the unit is.

Returning to prison will not help him become a better citizen, it will destroy the true man inside.

17. Reinstate Our ACT Kangaroos onto The Rehabilitation Licence

PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION TO HELP REINSTATE THE FULL TERM REHABILITATION OF OUR ACT SICK, INJURED, ORPHANED NATIVE EASTERN GREY KANGAROOS (EGK's), onto the ACT Rehabilitation Carers Licence. Please send the word around, post this petition onto your website, and send it to everyone else you know, and your mailing list.

Kangaroo meeting with Maxine Cooper, the now former Commissioner of Sustainability and Environment, in her office on Thursday 14/10/10, that included discussions on full term rehabilitation for sick, injured, orphaned native Eastern Grey Kangaroos, which Maxine's dept is investigating.

Nora Preston has requested that a new expert advisory committee be David Croft, Nora Preston, Dror Ben-Ami, Daniel Ramp, Keely Boom, to replace all the unqualified non expert advisory committees.

Media release on 23/4/07

These animals mentioned below are all dead, however, the fight still goes on, to turn the site into Wildlife Carers Group proposed city Kangaroo Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, now renamed as the City Memorial Kangaroo Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, in tribute to the kangaroos that were needlessly tortured to death, under the rspca's watchful eyes, who then inappropriately claimed that this massacre was humane.

PLEASE sign our other petition as well on to save ALL the Eastern Grey Kangaroos on the Lawson Defence site (BNTS) from relocation and death, and turn the site into a Kangaroo Park/Wildlife Sanctuary with educational facilities, wildlife hospital, rehabilitation enclosures, etc. Media releases on 13 May 2007,, 14 May 2007,, 20 May 2007,,,, 25 May 2007,, 7 March 2008.

These kangaroos have suffered enough and will not survive any relocation, which will cause acts of animal cruelty with this type of research, they must be left alone on the site where they have lived safely for their entire lives.

Nora Preston, The Founder/President of WCG - Wildlife Carers Group began rehabilitating wildlife in the early '80's.

ACT EGK's were rehabilitated in carers back yards, with their fences extended, to prevent them from escaping.

Our ACT (Australian Capital Territory) Eastern Grey Kangaroos were removed off our rehabilitation licence in mid 1980's, to prevent us from rehabilitating our sick, injured, orphaned NATIVE Eastern Grey Kangaroos, (EGK's) claiming, that our EGK's were not native to the ACT.

In 2005, Nora Preston, President and Founder of Wildlife Carers Group, (WCG) applied for and was issued with a licence by TAMS (Territory and Municipal Services), with a Rehabilitation Carers Licence, to rehabilitate sick, injured, orphaned native animals/wildlife.

Nora Preston contacted the now former Licensing Officer and the now former Local Chief Minister Jon Stanhope of the Labor Party, and pointed out to them that our Native EGK's were indeed native to the ACT, that the licence was incorrect and needed to be amended, and to include the full term rehabilitation of our Native EGK's.

Nora Preston - WCG, received A formal letter from both the former Chief Minister Jon Stanhope and the former Licensing Officer at that time, from TAMS, apologising for the error, and amended the licence, however, only amended rehabilitation for 48 hours, instead of the required full term rehabilitation, and then want the healthy animals destroyed.

There have since been 2 different Chief Ministers, and 2 different TAMS Ministers, all of whom Nora has continued to liaise with and has kept fighting to have this licence amended.

Failing to amend the Rehabilitation Licence to full term rehabilitation of our sick, injured, orphaned EGK's, allows acts of animal cruelty, inhumanely and unnecessarily killing/destroying EGK's that are healthy, that have every prospect of a successful rehabilitation.

This ACT licence is being governed under an old 1996 report.

Furthermore, Research has been cruel by TAMS, with Bromocriptine fertility research, which is an oral administration, suppressing the milk from the joey, slowly starving it to death, page 64/65 in Report 3, or cruelly ripping the joey from it's mothers pouch, causing bleeding of the mouth, with further hemorrhaging, injuries, and death. The 1996 ACT Kangaroo Advisory Council 3 Reports are on

These are all acts of animal cruelty, therefore in breach of the animal welfare act, and will have to stop.

This report will show how out of date the current advisory council is, working off a report, reported in August 1996, however, Report 1, page 5/6, that was stating a report in late 1994, also recommended that the culling must stop, because they 'were over culling our native kangaroos', and yet, the wildlife rehabilitation licence was never updated to include full term rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned native Eastern Grey Kangaroos to allow the recovery of the EGK's population, which has continued to rapidly decline.

Report 2, page 5, first paragraph, then contradicts Report 1, claiming that 'this licence specifically excludes Eastern Grey Kangaroos because of their abundance in the ACT', which is describing the Rehabilitation licence.

The ACT is the only state in Australia that cruelly prevents the full term rehabilitation of our sick, injured, orphaned Native EGK's.

The advisory council is made up of the kangaroo commercial industry, farmers, rspca, (who categorise our native EGK's as feral on their website, and insist on cruel killing, then claim that the inhumane killings are humane) etc, all who have a serious conflict of interest with kangaroos, and want them to be driven to extinction, with the mentality that 'wildlife can't live amongst humans' which was quoted to Nora Preston by the head ranger of TAMS, and the local government who was in charge of the environment file at the time, with absolutely no regard to the destruction they were causing to our environment, conservation of, or the animal rights and welfare.

It is time to put the environment, conservation of, and wildlife first, to be educated, come back into this century, civilisation, and start acting like civilised, educated people.

For animal welfare reasons, the Rehabilitation licence must be amended and to reinstate the full term rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned Native EGK's.

To prevent road kills, the shooroo needs to be modified, so that it can be activated in the vehicles, when travelling at any speed.

Saving and Caring for our Environment, Conservation, and all of our Native Wildlife.

19. More Rehabilitation for prison inmates

The reason I decided to make this petition is because of family and friends that have became marked by the system. With out the proper means or opportunity to make changes in their life.

I think the system sets criminal offenders up for failure. It places criminal offenders in prison with out any direction as to where to go to improve their way of living. When they get out they end up living the same life because it is all they know.
