1. Pharmacists should enjoy genuine professional independence to ensure public protection

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) passed a judgement on May 19th 2009 entitled:

OWNERSHIP AND OPERATION OF PHARMACIES CAN BE RESTRICTED TO PHARMACISTS ALONE

Judgments of the Court of Justice in Case C-531/06 and in Joined Cases C-171/07 and C-172/07Commission v Italy, Apothekerkammer des Saarlandes and Others

Italian and German legislation laying down such a rule is justified by the objective of ensuring that the provision of medicinal products to the public is reliable and of good quality

ECJ Press release

On 30th June 2011 the English Pharmacy Board of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society agreed the following statement.

Minutes of the meeting of the English Pharmacy Board - Open business

In May 2009 the European Court of Justice (ECJ) found against the European Commission and in favour of Italy and Germany in cases involving the right of those States to restrict the ownership of pharmacies to pharmacists alone. The Court decided this restriction was justified in those particular circumstances because of the protection it provides to public health, more specifically by the objective of ensuring that the provision of medicinal products to the public is reliable and of good quality. The Court also said that it has not been established that another measure less than the rule excluding non-pharmacists from ownership would make it possible to ensure just as effectively the level of reliability and quality in the provision of medicinal products to the public. The law in Great Britain does not currently restrict ownership to pharmacists alone.

The English Pharmacy Board (EPB) of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) would wish to achieve the same laudable aim of protecting the public by ensuring that pharmacists in England enjoy genuine professional
independence.

The EPB wishes to work with government, other representative bodies and employers to bring forward recommendations to ensure pharmacists can practice in an atmosphere of professional freedom that allows them to provide the highest levels of public service and protection. In order to achieve this the EPB in its role as part of the RPS is currently involved in the review of the Responsible Pharmacist regulations, the fundamental review of the Medicine Act and is currently moving forward with its workplace pressure campaign through the promotion of professional
empowerment.

2. Promte responsible pet ownership in Africa

Uncontrolable stray dogs in Africa due to irresponsible breeding and ignorance; puppy mills awareness highly recommended; our fabpet amagazine need support;
thank you.

3. Tougher Pet Ownership Laws

Most puppies and kittens are sold in pet shops are bred in 'mills' where dogs and cats are kept in sub-standard conditions and continually bred until they die. However there are also bred at home in the suburbs where there are no controls.

Cute puppies and kittens are sold or given to friends without the necessary vet inspection or the necessary de-sexing for control. The animals are then dumped when people realise the time, cost and responsibility of caring for a pet.

RSPCA statistics show that in 93-94 - 43,762 dogs were received and 50% were euthanased, 42,126 cats were received and 74% were euthanased. In 96-97 - 69,956 dogs were received and 48% were euthanased, 62,163 cats were received and 75% were euthanased. And this figure is at least doubled when the many overcrowded animal shelters all over Australia are factored in to the equation.

4. Protecting Companion Animal Ownership in Victoria

Victorian law provides for certain procedures to be performed on animal legally when done by a vet and in accordance with the Australian Veterinary Association Code of Practice. However, once these procedures are done the animal is barred from pubic viewing. Example - The practice of de-barking dogs under the AVA CoP can only be done as a last resort - rather than euthanasia. It is unfair that these animals must then be hidden from site.

The law needs to be changed. If the Vet who performs the procedure does not do it in accordance with the CoP then the vet faces punishment, so why then punish dog?

This petition is to remove the offending clause from the Victorian Legislation. That Clause being:

11A. Further prohibited procedure offences...

(1) The owner or person in charge of an animal must not allow a prohibited
procedure to be carried out on the animal.

Penalty: 120 penalty units or imprisonment for 12 months, in the case of a
natural person. 600 penalty units, in the case of a body corporate.

(2) The owner or person in charge of an animal on which a prohibited procedure
has been carried out must not-

(a) show or exhibit the animal; or

(b) allow another person to show or exhibit the animal-

unless the prohibited procedure was carried out-

(c) before the commencement of section 80 of the Animals Legislation
Amendment (Animal Care) Act 2007; or

(d) in a jurisdiction other than Victoria, in accordance with the law of
that jurisdiction, and the animal was not, at any time on or before
the procedure was carried out, resident in Victoria.

Penalty: 20 penalty units.

(3) In this section-

exhibit, in relation to an animal, means the general or public display of the
animal (whether or not for sale purposes); show, in relation to an animal,
means causing the animal to participate in any competition, performance or
entertainment.

5. Mandatory country of ownership and product origin labelling in Aussie supermarkets

Australians deserve to know if the money they spend on a product in the supermarket benefits Australian businesses or is heading to foreign company headquarters.

The current labelling is so confusing to know which products are Australian or foreign.

This petition is aimed at changing the confusing labelling as a flag of the product owner would have to be displayed clearly.

Australian companies which are not 100% Australian owned but have a majority Australian owner would have to have the percentage of ownership on the pack along with the Aussie flag and a flag of the foreign company partner.

A company which uses Australian and imported ingredients would have to inform shoppers of which country has the highest percentage in the finished product on its label.

6. Community Park Support of Property Transfer to Phila. Rec Dept

With guidance from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), the Friends have decided that transferring ownership to the Recreation Department provides the best advantages, for several reasons, including:

§ This is a model that has been used successfully at Fitler Square and other similar parks.

§ The Recreation Department would help us with many maintenance tasks, such as sidewalk repair.

§ This structure would give us access to the City’s insurance, so that we do not have to bear that cost ourselves.

§ PHS strongly recommends this model and has funding that we can access only if the Recreation Department assumes ownership.

Thus, under the stewardship of the Department of Recreation, Montrose Park will benefit from the guidance of the Department as the Friends continue with the fundraising efforts and eventual construction phase of the project. As the ultimate goal of the Friends of Montrose Park is to convert these current vacant lots into a community "pocket" park, this ownership transfer would be an early but essential step in helping to achieve that end-goal.

7. Allow Arthur Street Condominium dog ownership

As it stands, the Arthur Street Condominium owners must ask permission by way of a vote by the trust in order to own a dog. So far, they have voted against dog ownership for the reasons listed: potential noisy or vicious dogs, messes left behind by dogs, and neighbors who dislike dogs.

As responsible homeowners and neighbors within the Arthur Street condominium community we are asking that there is guidelines created to allow for dog ownership wihin our community. These can include limitation in size of dog, proximity of dog walking and mandatory clean-up, as well as preclusions made for the removal of any dog that is seen as dangerous.

We feel that any responsible homeowner should not be begrudged the opportunity of owning a dog because of a select number of people and their views on the matter.

Granted large corporations with noble cause and some cash gets to attract not so honest officials. While the erring officials need to be tackled and process need to fixed following current (Feb 2005) disclosure scandals, this should not be used as a partisan gain to further divide people of America & deny them for ever the chance to own their home.

12. Return our Electricity Supply to Public Ownership in S.A.

13. Ban the Auctioning Of Dogs on trademe.co.nz

BREAKING NEWS

"On Friday 25th July 2003, less than 24 hours after this petition was started, Trade Me agreed to stop the practice of auctioning of not just dogs but also cats, birds and horses. They have also sought the advice of the SPCA on how to make their site more animal friendly an encourage responsible ownership. Thank you to everyone who supported this petition. It worked a lot faster than we were expecting and just shows what people can do when they band together.
Thank you again."

This Online Petition has been set up to try to discourage the New Zealand based buy, sell, trade and exchange internet site Trade Me (www.trademe.co.nz) from allowing the auctioning off of DOGS on their NZ based Auction Site. We feel very strongly about dogs being auctioned off and would like as much support as we can get to try and convince Trade Me that this is not the way of responsible dog ownership. Dogs are our much beloved family pets and there are far more suitable ways of selling your dog or puppy to the best possible home through advertising and lots of contact with the prospective owners rather than as an auction. We are concerned that once the reserve price is met on these auctions, the seller is legally obliged to go through with the sale, and therefore has no say on whether the home is suitable or not.
Please sign our petition and support the stopping of dog auctions on Trade Me.

Thankyou, Joanne, Maree and Jan.

14. Deathdragon for Ownership

I bought a Gold Membership + VIP Subscription a few weeks ago.
I went online played Cynical and it was a really good playerworld.
Booj was Owner,... we got friends and worked on a few Projects together (non Graal Related Projects). But then he wanted to quit he gave over the ownership to Stukey some Staff of him.
Stukey didn't do much he only made the staff tags crashing, and gave the NPC Server in Player List and he also did add a Guild NPC which is absolutely useless.

Most of the Staff went crazy and was fired because of Stukeys Ownership.
And most of the Players left Cynical because of this.
I talked to Booj on the same day for trying to get me the Ownership because i think i am good and i can get Cynical back to a really interesting PW. I worked on a few Projects and i am also working on non Graal Related Projects. But lets come to the point Booj said he will think about it. And that was 4-5 days ago now. I want really help Cynical getting back to the status it was when i started playing it. So please help me and the people of Cynical and get a better Owner.

16. Remove Mike Brown and save the Cincinnati Bengals

This petition has been presented to you, the Bengal fan, to collect names of those who share the following beliefs regarding the ownership of the Cincinnati Bengals.

The ownership of the Cincinnati Bengals has broken the unwritten contract between a team and its fans.

The ownership of this organization has actively pursued a course which has materially indebted itself to the people of Cincinnati yet have failed to deliver a competitive product through what we feel is gross incompetence at the highest levels of management.

The ownership of this organization is causing a lack of balance in the AFC Central and the NFL as a whole.

17. Abolish Media Lies

The Mainstream Media are controlled by a handfull of VERY powerful people who often lie, distort the truth and leave out vital bits of information so that the wealthiest most powerful people in the world can persuade ordinary working people to do things that are only in the interests of the wealthy. The media should have a licensing system and if they are caught lying or leaving out important information they should lose that license. There should also be strict limits on Foreign Ownership of media operating in any country.
