1. Make Hoppy (Chris Hopkins) a SURVIVOR

Summer 2000... My admiration, desire, and obsession began, it was given a target to focus on. SURVIVOR was born and I became a student (to say fan would be a misuse of the word).

I've accomplished a great amount in my short 40 yrs on this planet... Served almost 15 yrs in the best Navy on the planet the US Navy. I have fought the ugliness of sexual discrimination in an age when overall people accept alternative sexual lifestyles, I once was on an early path to possibly becoming a Baptist Chaplain when a crisis of faith tested everything I thought and believed in, and Ive promised my family and friends I would do everything in my powers to make life better for them and to make sure Im never EVER boring.

I'm looking for the chance to survive, to make a difference, and to bring honor and a level of entertainment and talkativeness to SURVIVOR that hasn't happened in the course of it television history.

P.S. The name is spelled Christopher Dean Hopkins so you can get the check ready. I intend to make this life changing for everyone in my path.

2. Rights for Everyone's Safety on the TTC

I was using the TTC on Sunday December 13th to get home. In the evenings (especially when it is this late, when I have bags to carry from work and when roads are slippery), I like to request the bus to pull into a quick stop between bus stops. Not only do I feel safer with my home in sight; I have shaved several minutes of walking. Usually, bus drivers are more than happy to do this, especially during the winter evenings regardless of my gender.

This time, I was abruptly reminded that this request stop was for "women only" and then the bus carried on driving (without stopping and only having one other passenger).

This is only the third time this has happened (the the driver rejected my request); however, I feel that incident should never have happened at all. I am writing to suggest that the "evening stop request" be made availble to all men, women and children travelling in the evening times and that every passenger's safety (especially in the winter time) be considered. The Toronto Transit Corporation has to believe that passengers will not abuse this opportunity; at the same time, should also believe that their employees can us their descretion whether to allow the stop or not (NOT based on gender). Being that Toronto has taken huge strides to become more inclusive and diverse in culture, ethnicity, abilities and sexuality/gender, this should be reflected in the transit system Toronto provides.

Not all women are more vulnerable to danger than men. Female riders do not pay extra fare to have their safety be protected (as people's safety should be protected for everyone). There are many individuals in Toronto who are transgendered as well. Being judged by the clothes we wear, the way we act and who we are should not be a factor in our safety when "Riding the Rocket".

With Toronto winning its bid for World Pride in 2014; I do not concede that we should take this matter lightly. For the days, weeks and months leading up to the event, Toronto will be home to many visitors from across the globe. The last thing I believe should ever happen would be for a man to be in a dire situation that could have been avoided by the opportunity to "request an evening stop".

3. We Demand Financial Transparency on BHUSD Permit Issue

The Beverly Hills Board of Education has to date NEVER formally presented to the community an itemized financial analysis of the SAVINGS it will incur by removing Opportunity permit children from the BHUSD educational system. The public has explicitly asked the Board for over 1 year to provide these financial numbers.

Bob Blatner, the Sacramento education expert brought in by the BHUSD Superintendent in mid 2009, explained to the Board that any savings would be negligible "budget dust." He went on to explain that while the cost of educating a child may be approx. $10,000, the SAVINGS recouped by removing them is not this number because ALL the incremental costs still exist with our without that student in the classroom - the teachers, custodians and administrative staff all still exist, the books already exist, the desks and lighting exist regardless of whether there's a body in the classroom or not. Unless the Board plans to CUT STAFF and CLOSE ONE OF ITS ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, the costs will remain the same and they will recoup nearly nothing. Finally, the Board bases its projected costs on the mere speculation that the District will enter Basic Aid by 2010 and not bounce in and out of this designation as is expected.

The Board plans to vote permitted children out of the Beverly Hills Unified School District at their January 12th School Board meeting without EVER analyzing the financial data. This is not right.

4. Open letter on the Equal Opportunities Commission Bill

Dear friends,

We are writing to draw your attention to the Equal Opportunities Commission, Bill to be introduced by the Government, shortly. An important recommendation of the Sachar Committee Report (Report on Social, Economic and Educational Status of the Muslim Community of India), 2006 was the setting up of an Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) in India. The Ministry of Minority Affairs set up a committee under the chairmanship of Dr. Menon to examine and determine the structure of an Equal Opportunity Commission. The Committee submitted its report in 2008, which proposed a draft Equal Opportunity Commission Bill (EOC Bill). The Government also set up an expert committee headed by Dr. Kundu to recommend an appropriate diversity index in living, education and work spaces.

We have drafted an open letter to the Ministry of Minority Affairs, highlighting some of the key concerns with the draft bill and demanding a wider public debate before it is introduced in Parliament. Once, endorsed, we will mail copies of the letter to the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Prime Minister. We also hope to publish the text of the Open letter in atleast two national newspapers.

Do forward it to other organisations and individuals who would wish to sign the petition.

In Solidarity,

Centre for Study of Social Exclusion,
National Law School of India, Bangalore

5. Sabretung to support Iron Maiden

Dainty Consolidated Entertainment has announced Behind Crimson Eyes as the Australian Support for Iron Maiden for Sydney and Brisbane. This band is not a metal band and DO NOT deserve the opportunity to be supporting a band that is obviously not one of their influences.

Sabretung are a burgeoning thrash metal band from Newcastle NSW and are long time Iron Maiden fans and DO deserve this opportunity to open for one of their heroes.

7. Zero tolerance for repeat sex offenders

July 14, 2006

To ask that the sentences for sex offences both of adult and children be made more severve.

The way sentences are handed out in these cases are a travesty. The inept sentences serve only to re-victimise the victim and make it easy for offenders to continue to offend.

I am asking that the sentences for first offence be no less than 5 years Australia wide and that if a convicted offender re-offends post release that there be put in place a zero tolerance no second chance law that sentences them to life with no opportunity for parole How many more times do rapists and child molesters need to some that they are unremorseful for their acts and will continue to re-offend at every opportunity.

U people in parliament have the power with in ur hands to change this it's time we screamed NO loudly and put the message across that we as a society will not tolerate sexual predators FULL STOP.

When you read this thing of poor Sofia before you just dismiss my words and do your job speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, make the sentences just not unjust.

Think of innocence (of a child) then attempt to put a value on it, then think how long these sexual predators should rot behind bars.

Please stand up and fix the problem now.

8. Give us back our Manager

Feb 06, 2006

Melynnda Stanfield, work center manager for Opportunity Village was suspended appending investigation. She was not given a fair or proper investigation.

She was then pulled from her current position to be placed in a position that not only demotes her but offends and embarrasses her.

We, her staff, want her to be placed back in her position as work center manager.

9. More Rehabilitation for prison inmates

The reason I decided to make this petition is because of family and friends that have became marked by the system. With out the proper means or opportunity to make changes in their life.

I think the system sets criminal offenders up for failure. It places criminal offenders in prison with out any direction as to where to go to improve their way of living. When they get out they end up living the same life because it is all they know.

12. Introduce Legal Studies into the Abbotsleigh HSC course

Legal studies has never been introduced into the Abbotsleigh HSC course.

This has been a popular subject in other schools and we believe many girls at Abbotsleigh would like the opportunity to enrol in such a course.

The introduction to the study of law in commerce in year 9 raised a lot of interest among the students. We believe the school should offer the opportunity to continue the study of law in year 11 and 12.

13. Westlife to South Africa

This is a petition to get Westlife back to South Africa. It is on behalf of all S. African fans who want the chance to see their idols perform live.

14. Pledge to Vote Against Abortion

Abortion is the murder of absolutely innocent human beings for the sake of human irresponsibility and sensuality.

It is the worst holocaust ever seen on earth, in terms of numbers, in terms of the innocence of the victims, and in terms of the betrayal of kin.

Those who fight against abortion have long been suckered into voting for political parties which vaguely promise to do something but actually do nothing.

Therefore we will make it our primary issue when we cast our vote. We absolutely refuse to vote for any political party which will permit abortion to continue. Furthermore we will not throw up our hands and not vote; we will vote AGAINST abortion at every opportunity.

This is not at all futile. It is, in fact, THE way to stop abortion; the only way. At least in western nations, which have a clear Christian majority (eg. 75%), if every Christian would vote against abortion it would have to stop immediately.

Therefore their blood is on Christian hands also.

Please commit yourself to this pledge and put it into action in your life. You can be sure that political parties which don't care about the unborn, these innocent, don't have enough heart to care about you, either. You are not losing anything.

Please help stop this worst holocaust the world has ever seen. Don't be an accessory to murder. Be an accessory to mercy.

15. Petition To Rescind ONG's Franchise Agreement

Oklahoma Natural Gas Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of ONEOK and has violated the public trust by manipulating natural gas prices and over charging consumers. ONG has franchise agreements with a number of cities in Oklahoma and we the voters should be given the opportunity to rescind these agreements. No one should be forced to do business with crooks!
