1. Let's change Keanu Reeves' name to Chuck Spadina

It has to be known that Keanu Reeves was pondering this, only not convinced if he should take such a big step, he needs our support and to understand that we'd all support him even as Chuck Spadina!

2. Change Northern Michigan University's Parking

This petition was created for the purpose of changing Northern Michigan University's parking for residential students. As an Northern Michigan University students who pay $140 for a residential parking pass, we expect parking to be within a reasonable distance from our current place of residence. Through the construction of new dormitories and deconstruction of old dormitories we have been shorted reasonable parking availability.

The construction of the new dormitories known as "The Woods" has created a student housing availability difference of plus one hundred students per building. However no increase of residential parking has been created to match the new housing availability.
Directly outside of the side entrance of the new dormitories The Woods in lots 46 and 26 there are roughly 163 parking spots(hand counted assume error of 10 or less). This is 41% parking availability to the students living in The Woods. Leaving 59% of students living in dormitories "The Woods" looking for parking elsewhere. Which due to overcrowded parking in other residential parking lots leaves many students who live in The Woods as well as other dormitories walking a half a mile or more to the entrance of their dormitories in the dark and soon to be several feet of snow. This is an unacceptable distance to walk when paying the premium rate of $140 for a parking pass.

During the American Civil War, the Confederate States of America consisted of the governments of 11 Southern states that seceded from the Union in 1860-61, carrying on all the affairs of a separate government and conducting a major war until defeated in the spring of 1865. During this time Jefferson Davis was a politician who served as the President of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1865. Robert Edward Lee (January 19, 1807 – October 12, 1870) was a Confederate soldier, best known as a top army commander of the Confederate States of America. He commanded the Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War from 1862 until his surrender in 1865. Sidney Clopton Lanier served in the Confederate army, worked on a blockade running ship for which he was imprisoned. Davis, Lee and Lanier were proud supporters of slavery and wanted to keep all people of color as property. Let's finally do away with the forefathers of Jim Crowe. All three of these men have been celebrated in the state of Alabama and beyond. In the city of Montgomery, AL they were granted names of schools because in there perspective area it was an almost all white area who shared there same views. Now these schools are predominantly attended by African-american students. I say if most have moved away to continue to be segregated they should take there overseers with them. The names and the likeness of them should be put in archive because they are a part of history and would be wrong to destroy. The names of these schools however should be changed and the people of now not then should come up with new names of the schools. People outside the state suggestions will also be considered for suitable names for the three schools as well.

4. Effective Penalties comparative to risk or injuries sustained within the NRL and CRL

mother of 3 boys who have played NRL since age 4/5.
Over the years have witnessed variable degrees of injuries where penalties awarded were inconsistent or comparable to the severity of the misconduct.
I want to make the NRL ,CRL enable a system by grading relevance and severity of the misconduct to a guide by which Referees can deliver the appropriate penalty.
At the moment it is up to the Referees discretion on how to deliver a penalty allowing for a huge inconsistency of varying degrees of penalties to the same misconduct. If there is some sort of guideline or grading as to what the NRL and CRL would recommend for certain misconduct not only would it ensure consistency but make the entire filed of play safer,

5. Help us get authorization for the use of safety amber lights

The Howard Beach Citizens Safety Patrol is a official non-for-profit organization that works on quality of life issues and patrols our Howard Beach community. For three years we have been in contact with the NYPD expressing our need for safety amber lights, to protect the community and our members, we patrol in marked organizational patrol cars and assist all first responders in emergency situations. For example when assisting at a car accident, we need to secure the scene until emergency personnel arrive by using our amber safety lights. We have continuously been denied the use of our amber lights, by the NYPD, even though we have given ample examples of our assistance and meet all qualifications by law in their use.

6. Fight for 5!

Americans demand that the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) lower the level of nationwide support required to participate in “leading candidate” debates. The current number is 15%, we insist that it be lowered to 5%.

• People across the nation seek a wider variety of political options, especially when it comes the the President of the United States of America.
• Third party presidential candidates always have the odds stacked against them. Their message is smothered by the sheer weight of their competitors’ financial power.
• Lowering the prerequisites to participate in the CPD debates of the general election will help even out the playing field, and open the door for more qualified and innovative candidates that are not held back by the two establishment parties.

7. Gratuitous change of Cross River State logo

The new Cross river state logo is totally uncalled for. 50 is not a destination contrary to what our governor thinks and according to the Crossriverwatch, destination cross river talks about a serene, calm place for tourism and commerce .
There are more pressing issues in the state and the logo doesn’t even come close to them. Citizens complain of lack of security, lack of water despite paying bills, deteriorated hygiene, state library and roads. The journey of Airtel should better inform that rebranding without actually putting things in place yields nothing. The issue is not in the logo but in the administration and leadership.
Comparing the new and old logo, a bull is very fierce animal and in no way represents the good nature of the people of Cross river, ironically, it rather shows the present state of the state since this new administration. The former logo has a dolphin, a rather peaceful, friendly yet smart animal and this indeed is a true representation of a true Cross Riverian. The colour red signifies danger, there is a reason red is used for danger signs. The blue colour of the former logo represented calmness and evidently the colour itself is very soothing.
Finally in the aspect of creativity, the former logo is a thousand times more creative compared to the present one. We like to appeal to the Cross River State government to please continue with the destination Cross River logo, seek understanding of it’s representation and work to restore the lost glory of the state.

8. Date Rape Choice

I have been researching date rape and sexual assault for the past couple of months, according to a popular article, most date rapes happen while the victim is under the influence of (Or high on) a drug that was placed in something that they had previously consumed (via. drink food etc). But it is hard t0 believe that no one witnesses the action of the drug placement.

9. Right for equal parentage

There are 13 million estimated number of single parents across the nation.(Census Bureau, 2011) While it was studied that 17.8% of custodial parents (approximately 1 in 6) are fathers. Did you know that children without a fathers in their lives are far greater than any other child to be at risk for teen pregnancy, drug use, and or mental health issues (anxiety, depression, emotional disorders). Researchers have studied and concluded that children are 63% more likely to commit suicide in fatherless homes (Bureau of Census, 2017). A study conducted by sociologist has shown that 72 % of adolescent murderers have grown up in homes with an absentee father figure (Cornell [et al.], 2017). Lastly, child abuse is significantly more likely to occur in homes without stable father figures (Census Bureau, 2011)
For many children, the fight is out of their hands. They never had a chance to even bond with their father. If the father is to fight for their child, they are left to fend for themselves. The father must declare in written English why they are the best qualified individual to care for their own child. At which point a judge will then read and “to their best ability, objectively decide who the best parent may be to obtain majority parentage”. I don’t know about you, but this sounds ridiculous! Imagine if some stranger told you to “build a resume” as to why you should maintain parentage of your children. Then for them to “best decide” if you are up to a challenge, regardless of what you say after they have read your declaration. It’s one hurdle after another. It’s said, parenting must remain in the best interest of the child. I ask, how is putting unnecessary strain on a hard-working father in the best interest of the child. The reality is men are being forced out of their own families or what’s left of a family after an already defeated cohort.

10. AUBG Alumni Petition - Call For Action!

• AUBG alumni are deeply concerned with what is happening at AUBG during the last years and share the opinion that the current situation is unacceptable.
• The time for evolutionary change has long passed. AUBG’s success requires a change of leadership, a change of structure, a change of the academic program and a change of mindset. The only way to achieve this is through a major change in the AUBG Board of Trustees.
• We demand and expect concrete actions by the Board of Trustees, as listed below.

12. Real Freedom for the USA

Before I get into outlining the history of our government. I do not care who won the election! But we do something about "our" situation.

Our government has oppressed us for centuries. We came to this country to escape the government and we are right back to where we started

Together we can take this country back. We need to start this petition to let our government know we are serious about sitting down with President and telling him exactly what we as a people want to happen, which is fixing the economy {and we can} If we fix the economy we would solve the main problem facing our World

Our problem is not racism it's money. If there wasn't such a huge gap in the economy there would not be a problem with homeless Veterans and others, crime would decline dramatically.

We need to sit down face to face with our President with someone of our choosing, and tell him what needs to be fixed and how it is going to be fixed,

We need to tell them what is going to happen, not just ask them to change it, because they will not do anything. We need to tell them what we need and want done and if they do not we will impeach the government and start all over with normal everyday people who will, not rich people who won't.

Here are some of the problems that need to be addressed and the solutions to fix them.

The economy ~~solution ~~take away the governments' paychecks and reduce the amount of people in congress, boycott the entertainment industry.

The ozone ~~solution ~~ using only brick or stone for building, using only hemp for paper and clothes, using more natural products to clean. Growing hemp will add more oxygen and using brick and stone will help save the trees and is a more stable structure.

Crime ~~ solution ~~fix the economy, by leveling out the playing field so people won't need to steal therefore we would a decrease in murders.

13. Form a new Independent Party, "The Justice Party"

The reason for this petition is to call to the fact that both of the main parties, the Republicans and the Democrats have not been fair in dealing with the whole of America.

14. Mindfulness/Tai Chi & Life Skills in our Schools

Teaching kids about mindfulness has been a huge success in Robert W. Coleman Elementary School Baltimore. The school has replaced detention with meditation where kids feel like they are in control, no medication yelling or screaming. It has been said that since taking part in this program two years ago the school hasn't issued a single suspension!

“Studies show that grade-school-aged children who learn mindfulness and meditation are more focused and resilient,” says Sarah McKay, an Oxford University-trained neuroscientist and freelance science writer specializing in mind and brain. “It helps settle them down and improves concentration, particularly if done before school or after lunch breaks.” Taken form an article written in "The Wall Street Journal". Practicing mindfulness improves focus, reduces stress and anxiety, boost academic performance and provides a means to cope in the present moment. We spend time on worrying about the past or the future, however learning how to stop, breathe and make good choices in the present moment comes from practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness teaches us more about ourselves, our emotions, triggers and reactions. When we practice mindfulness we learn how to be aware, observe and to be present without prejudice or judgement benefiting in inner wellness, mental wellness and helping others do the same. Living in congruence means what we think, speak and act are all with the same intention coming from a place of who we truly are not what we have been led to believe by others. Kids need to learn ways to cope better and feel good about themselves this can be shown through teaching mindfulness, meditation and life skills.

15. Keep the Electoral College

The petitions to change the Electoral College only want to do so in order to make Hillary the President.

We have a method we've used since the beginning and we can't just allow a change to occur because those other petitions just want their candidate to win the election.

16. Name Palm Oil in New Zealand

Palm oil in New Zealand has no legal name which is atrocious as this substance funds the slavery and death of people.

Palm oil manufacturers have violated approximately ten human rights. The US, EU and Canada all have a legal name for palm oil so New Zealand casting a blind eye to this issue is embarrassing.

WWF have stated at least half of the packaged products New Zealand sells within its supermarkets contain palm oil. New Zealand's have the right to know what products have palm oil in them as some have the awareness and honour to avoid funding this issue.

Millions of hectares of forest are being burned and demolished due to these plantations and people should know what products are funding this destruction. New Zealanders deserve a legal name for palm oil on the packaging of these products.

17. Resentencing of a Juvenile Life Without Parole

I am writing a petition in regards of my son Donald Williams. He was sentenced under the juvenile lifer law at the age of 16.

My son was charged with 1st degree murder, even though his co-defendant admitted to shooting and killing the victim. The case revolved around the delivery of drugs.

His co-defendant broke his silence before being sentenced and stated: "Mr. Williams had no knowledge of my plans". In addition to the statement my son Donald was also offered a plea deal to serve 6 years. Due to his innocence, he declined the offer because he had no involvement in this matter. In light of this Donald was a High School student with a G.P.A of 3.0 looking towards a bright future.

I believe it was not possible for Donald to receive a fair trial 23 years ago in (1993)... because, first my son is of the Afro-American race, the victim being Caucasian and the son of a Macomb County police officer. The case was widely publicized with my son being a juvenile being tried as an adult for just being guilty by association. He be-friend his co-defendant for only two days, which led him into making an unwise decision! It is also quite evident that my son had poor since of judgment in picking his friends. Nonetheless, he took time to personally apologize to the victim's family.

Additionally, I know I still have a difficult battle to fight. He has now served twenty three years, and fighting for parole. I feel that Donald deserves to be given the opportunity to return to the community. By signing my petition, you will shined light for Mr. Williams, and those who are in similar situations JUVENILE LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE.

Thank you for taking the time and consideration of signing my petition!

Yours Sincerely,
a Mother's Tears

18. Protect our children from bullies by publishing clear boundaries and disciplinary consequences in the school handbook

I know school hasn't started yet this year but the school board meeting was tonight and Trevor Just got home to tell me about it. And I have to say I am very disappointed in what I have heard! So now I am calling all mothers / fathers / grandparents/ teachers/ staff to stand behind me and support me in my quest to keep our children Safe!

So here is my story... Last year Kylie in the middle school was sitting in her desk and a student who was bullying her for a long period of time decided to pick her desk up and throw her in it. She got hurt, a cracked rib and a concussion. Well that sounds bad but the injustice which followed was worse! The kid whom had thrown her in the desk was made to sit in the office until school was dismissed and then was allowed to go to basketball practice and returned to school the next day as nothing had happened!

My child missed three days of education time for pain and a doctor appointment. So I took it to the school board and asked for a stronger handbook to help protect our children and now tonight they approved the same written policy from last year. The one which doesn't outline disciplinary action and rules to create expectations of behavior for the students, so when our children get hurt we have something to help us make sure they are safe in their learning environment! So we all know that we got a New principal this year and I hope he is as great as everyone says he is. And I have no reason to doubt this. But I still firmly Believe that we need to revise this written policy. So now I need volunteers to stand by me in my quest!! Who Is With ME? Please sign this Petition if you agree we need to change our handbook.

19. Reduce the Speed Limit on our neighborhood roads

I have only been living here a couple of months with my two small children, and have had issues with other residents speeding down our neighborhood roads. The speed limit is 35, which isn't unreasonable, but the residents who don't have small children go up to 45-50mph! I don't know if changing it to 25 will keep them from flying down the roads in our neighborhood, but maybe it will slow them down to the reasonable 35 and make them think of why it's been changed.

There are a lot of small children in our area, and kids sometimes don't pay attention to the fast car zipping up the road and could easily run out for their ball or from one another and get hit. These cars are just going too fast.

One incident I've had recently was me and my 2 year old son were walking up and down the road and right in front of our home we stopped to draw on the road with chalk. We were on the right side, car was coming from the left, and this car didn't even hesitate to slow, but rather sped up and passed us. I know they were going faster that 35! My son doesn't understand the danger of the road yet, no matter how many times I tell him. I had a hold of his hand to be safe when I saw the car, but we do play in our front yard a lot and I do have to keep an eye on him cause he likes to run up to the road and watch the neighbors kids play across the street.

I worry about their safety when they are playing because they are so carefree and love play with big bouncing ball that sometimes go out in the road. If it wasn't considered being mean and rude to go tell the people who are speeding to slow down, I would. But people these days don't care to talk to one another and get defensive. Also, people are crazy and I am not trying to start a neighborhood feud.
Please help us get the speed limit changed. Maybe a 'children at play' sign on our roads.

Thank you.

20. #obama2016 - President Obama for another Term

It is time we the people, the future of this world take a stand for the right change.

Time we use our power as the nations of the world to keep the greatest president and friend to all nations in the White House for another term.

Let's be the difference. Let's be the world peace. Let's be the people of the world.

21. Urge Facebook to launch a peace sign profile picture filter

In light of recent events, Facebook made the decision to launch a profile picture filter of a French flag to allow people to support those affected by the attacks in Paris. The terrorist attacks that occurred in Paris were of course a tragedy, however, far more tragedies take place across the world due to terrorist attacks and acts of war that Facebook never launches filters for. For example, why wasn't there an option to apply a profile picture filter of the Lebanese flag a week ago when suicide bombings there killed dozens?

It could be suggested to Facebook to launch a countries flag as a filter any time a tragedy occurs in a country, but there is a much simpler solution: if the option was given to people to apply a profile picture filter of the well-known peace sign, this would allow people to support the global intolerance of violence/terrorism/acts of war and get behind not just one country, but the entire world in support of global peace.

Please sign the petition and share if you agree, thanks.

22. My Care

I want to introduce you all to a thought – simple idea born out of musing over the state of our society and our situation, and how we can improve our state as we delve deeper in the 21st century and leave something to look forward to for the coming generations.

How would you like to have funds available to you that won't cost you a penny? The funds I am talking about will be dedicated for the sole purpose of social welfare and the betterment of our society. These funds will come out of the total amount you pay as income taxes to the government. Imagine, a small amount of your taxes being available to you for making the world a better place. You can either donate the funds to any charity of your choice or even establish your own charitable organization to improve any aspect of your society, which you deem to be in need of development or relief.

My aim is to bring about a social change – a change that brings a paradigm shift in our outlook. It is quite apparent, from the present state that our society is in, that there is a crucial need to give care to our ever apathetic society.
This is an introductory attempt to start creating those necessary changes and with this I am introducing My Care to you! I want you to start reading the book with some idea as to what I wish to communicate to everyone and what you should expect. The book is available on Amazon and the link is on the website-

Petition Guide:

This campaign has always meant to be a global one and it is the wish of the author to ask the residents of each country who would like to support the My Care campaign in their own country to supply the addresses (in case of UK being; The House of Commons) of their own country and send it to my email.

The information provided will be used to create a petition similar to that of the UK. This way every participating country can have a petition connected to this link for voting.

The global petition is for the rest of residents living in countries where the implementation of My Care cannot take place at present, but want to show their support for the cause!

Please send your addressee information to:

23. Indoor Skate Park (Saint John - Rothesay)

The city of Saint John is in desperate need of an indoor skate park.

Let's make it happen!

24. Indiana Elderly Woman, Nettie Luckett, Seeks Change of Sentence!

Nettie Luckett has always deeply cared for her family, having three sons, two daughters, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She has always been a law-abiding citizen for over 75 years. She never caused any problems with neighbors, and kept to herself. Neighbors that interacted with her say she was kind and always cared about the children.

Neighbors would often see her tending to her yard, cutting grass, and planting flowers. She was a responsible home-owner and kept her yard clean and presentable. She encouraged neighborhood improvement.

That all changed on August 26, 2011. She now resides at Rockville Correctional Facility for manslaughter for shooting and killing her son-in-law.

There has been great speculation and curiosity about this case. Many draw their own conclusions. She has never spoken about the specifics of her case. She just quietly accepted the consequences.

Although rumors circulated regarding her death, she is not deceased. Now at age 79, she has tried to adjust to the inside as best she can. She is a model prisoner and leads by example. There aren’t any negative reports regarding her behavior. According to the guards at the prison, she is a hard worker, pleasant to be around, never causes any trouble, and very respectful. Family members coming in contact with guards receive positive comments and never hear any negativity. She stays active and has participated in many programs and has been awarded certificates, including suicide companion, locks of love for cancer, parenting classes, employee of the month, change of commitment to be a better person, and is one of a limited number of inmates chosen to participate in the upcoming Kairos retreat, which teaches women how to be caring through extensive discussions of the women of bible.

Letters pour in from inmates. They express their deep feelings for her. They all call her granny. Many seek guidance from her and they write that it helps them stay on the right path and stay committed to rehabilitation. They express how she has had a positive affect on their lives. The inmates that write all agree that she should not been in prison at her age and in her condition.

The inmates, like many on the outside, want to bring her home to spend the remainder of her life with her family.

Help Us! Help Her Get Home by signing our petition!

25. Change the British National Anthem

This is a petition to the UK government to change the British national anthem from God save the queen to land of hope and glory as God save the queen was written as the anthem but most people be live that land of hope and glory installs a more national pride.

If the current government is serious about change for the people then let them show it by removing a out dated song and replacing it with one that makes us all proud to be British.

26. Later High School Start Times

When you are in your teenage years, your body is undergoing an important developmental phase. Sleep is critical during this period as it aids in the development process. Sleep also has many other important properties such as helping the consolidation of memories, which is a core part of learning. It also physically restores the body. Being continually deprived of sleep lowers your immune system's capabilities, as well as causing the degradation of moods, which in turn affects behaviour and ultimately relationships.

The problem here is that melatonin, the chemical released by your body which induces sleep, is released in teenagers at a later time of the day (later at night than adults). And because of the developmental phase they are going through, teenagers need 9-10 hours of sleep to be at their best. However, daily life is scheduled around adults, who need 7-8 hours of sleep to be at their best. Now since adult bodies release melatonin earlier, it is much easier for them to get the required amount of sleep than it is for teenagers, and this difference is where the main cause of sleep deprivation in teenagers lies. As a result, teenagers are sleeping less and are not getting the most out of school, whilst simultaneously damaging their bodies.

Therefore high schools should start later in order for students to get the most out of their education, whilst also allowing for as much physical growth to occur during this phase as is possible. Students will get more out of education with later start times as well as benefits to their health both mental and physical.

27. Punish those who traffic and use prostitutes, but help prostitutes get medical help

Prostitution has been an on-going and growing problem in the United States and around the world. In a few countries like, Sweden, Iceland and Norway, they use the Swedish model.

In this model the offenders who buy sex are punished and the ones who are sold are treated with the necessary medical treatment. As the numbers show, the rate of trafficked victims has lowered a staggering amount.

The United States should be a part of this model.

We, as Americans, should provide victims of human trafficking with a place to go and the necessary medical needs. The johns and pimps should be the ones who get a sentence or a harsh punishment. They are the ones who are responsible for these people getting sold and raped 25 or more times each day.

America should care for those who don't have a voice.

28. Help Stop Child Abuse

A father shook his baby to death to stop him crying. The baby was found to have a 3cm bruise on the back of his head and bleeding on the brain. (Source: The Mail Online)

A mother of 5 neglected her children so bad, they did not know how to use the toilet or was themselves. (Source:

These two cases show how different situations are all over the country.

In 2013, helplines saw a rise in calls for help by 4%, and yet funding was dropped by 13%. Because of that, jobs were lost and hundreds of calls were unanswered.

On estimate, 57,000 children die each year (source: world Health Organisation). These are the statistics of the cases the have been discovered, there is a high number of cases unrecognised.

Please take a moment of your time and sign the petition to try and save the lives of the children.

29. Not Just "Like"

In over a decade, Facebook has grown to 1.11 billion users. It is valued at $104 Billion dollars, and should be updated to reflects it's users needs. (

People wish to quickly express their feelings, but are given only one choice.

I want more, Not Just "Like."

A friend's pet dies. Why would I click like? How about a sympathy button. I am outraged by a news event. Where's the anger button? I am laughing so hard I am crying, I click the lmao button through my tears of joy.

You get the idea. Simple. Honest. Choice!

30. Stop Violence Against Women & Children In Namibia: NA Introduce GBV Public Bill Now

Namibian women and children experience widespread violence (e.g., sexual, physical, psychological, murder, etc.) more than any country in the world. Well over 1,565 were murdered in a period of 5 years in Namibia, according to Namibian police sources. Turning Namibia into a KILLING FIELDS! According to the World Health Organization as of Dec 2013, 33% of women experience physical or sexual violence by a partner, and 38% of all murders committed against women come from their intimate partners. Furthermore, 45% of adolescent girls experience forceful rape.

Fellow friends of Namibia, citizens of Namibia, and concern citizens of the world, please support us by way of signing this petition. We are petitioning the National Assembly (NA) to introduce a Public GBV Bill (Legislation/Act) that will protect women and children against violence. NA is the highest lawmakers' chamber that initiates and approves laws in the country of Namibia.

We are Namibian Agents of Change (NAC), a community of agents of change that petition decision makers and elected officials on issues that significantly impact our lives. Members of NAC introduce, vote on predominant issue, discuss and debate on the voted issue while providing solutions, and finally petition decision makers. Our goal is to hold elected officials and decision makers RESPONSIBLE and ACCOUNTABLE for their actions and decisions, which will result in small-positive changes for all and make Namibia globally competitive.
