Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi is a former President of the Ghana Football Association(GFA), a former President of Zone B of the West Africa Football Union, a former Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and a former Council Member of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).

Tiger Eye PI represented to Mr Nyantakyi and Another that Medgulf (a non-existent Company) was desirous of sponsoring the Ghana Premier League (GPL) and other GFA activities as well as infrastructural construction, oil refinery, banking among others in Ghana.

Tiger Eye further misrepresented itself to the accused persons as representatives of Medgulf through emails and series of meetings in Accra and Dubai with the accused persons which were secretly recorded.

Mr Nyantakyi was consequently charged with the offenses of conspiracy to commit the crime of fraud by agent, fraud by agent and corruption by public officer contrary to relevant sections of the criminal offenses Act of Ghana.

The case has been adjourned several times with the last adjourned date being 29th October 2020.

Prior to the court case FIFA had banned Mr Nyantakyi for various breaches of its code of ethics. The Deputy Attorney General Mr Godfred Dame said FIFA relies on evidence presented by the Government of Ghana to Mr Nyantakyi.

In the circumstances the petitioners feel Mr Nyantakyi had been unduly and unfairly treated considering the circumstances and nature of the case as a set up and the contributions of Mr Nyantakyi to the development of football in Ghana.

The petitioners therefore wish to respectfully request His Excellency, The President of the Republic and the Honorable Attorney General to exercise their discretion of clemency and free Mr Nyantakyi from all criminal investigations and prosecution in Ghana based on the Anas expose of 2018.

We, the undersigned, respectfully request His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana and the Honorable Attorney General of the Republic to exercise their discretion of clemency and free Kwesi Nyantakyi from all criminal investigations and prosecution based on the Anas expose of the GFA in June 2018.
