The Department of State Security (DSS) in Nigeria recently conducted recruitment for cadets under the leadership of Yusuf Bichi. The recruitment was done without transparency, merit or credibility and did not reflect federal character in Nigeria. 535 persons were employed from northern Nigeria as cadets and a paltry 93 persons from the south. To further push the marginalization and tribalism agenda, 71 persons who were employed by the DSS are indigenes of Bichi LGA Kano state. The Director General of DSS, Yusuf Bichi hails from Bichi LGA and this means that he nepotistically employed his kinsmen to the detriment of other Nigerians.
Government ministries, departments and agencies both at state and federal level are very notorious in conducting backdoor recruitment, employing only their kith & kin and selling employment to other other Nigerians who are less privileged. Employment is sold in Nigeria for between five hundred thousand naira and two million naira .
We, the undersigned Unemployed People of Nigeria call on the federal government of Nigeria to cancel the recent DSS recruitment by Mr. Yusuf Bichi who employed 535 cadets from Northern Nigeria and only 93 from the south. He also employed 71 cadets from his local government area in Kano State.
