1. WireClub Separating Underage from Adults

The Internet is becoming an increasingly dangerous place for children and teenagers whose online profiles often attract aggressive sexual predators, federal prosecutors. The U.S. Department of Justice has joined with nonprofit groups to promote [a] public service campaign . . . which warns that personal information posted online can lead to abductions and sexual exploitation of
children. “Pedophiles are finding new ways and new opportunities to network with each other on how to exploit children,” said [a] U.S. Attorney . . . at a news conference where federal agents warned that seemingly friendly Web sites like MySpace or Facebook often are used by sexual predators as victim directories. “Young girls who are innocently posting very personal information, or their identities, on these sites are setting themselves up for disaster,” [he] said. 2007, ¶1–¶4) Taken from : American Psychological Association

2. The Government Needs to Put More Effort Into Enforcing Teen Driving Laws

We need to enforce the teen driving laws better because there are many people who lose their life from this problem. There are many teens all over the US who are using the phones while driving and there are also teens drinking and driving as well.

List of Facts:

32.8% of high school students nationwide have texted or e-mailed while driving.
12% of distracted drivers involved in fatal car accidents were teens ages 15 to 19.
Talking on a cell phone can double the likelihood of an accident and can slow a young driver's reaction time to that of a 70-year-old.
Drivers under the age of 20 make up the largest percentage of distracted drivers.
56% of teens admit to talking on cell phones while driving.
13% of teens admit to texting while driving.
34% of teens age 16 and 17 admit that they send and respond to text messages while driving.
About 1/4 of fatal teen car accidents involve underage drinking and driving. (MADD)
About 5.8% of 16- and 17-year-olds and 15.1% of 18- to 20-year-olds reported driving under the influence of alcohol in the past year. (MADD)
About 8.2% of high school students reported driving a car or other vehicle one or more times when they had been drinking alcohol.

3. Make a Teen version of Batman Arkham Knight

The batman arkham games are my favorite games of all time and because of this I was shocked to see the fourth installment as an M rating.

I just think how many young people like me are kept from playing because of graphic content.

4. Support Act to Provide Funding Extensions in Programs for Human Trafficking Prevention and Homeless Youth

The Leahy-Collins Runaway and Homeless Youth and Trafficking Prevention Act reauthorizes a critical federal grant program established to help states and local communities address the needs of runaway and homeless youth in both urban and rural areas. The bill also extends the Transitional Living Program, which provides longer-term residential services, life skills, education, and employment support to older homeless youth. The proposal also reauthorizes the Street Outreach Program, a community-based program that focuses on crisis intervention (Leahy, 2014).

The reauthorization measure includes important new language to combat human trafficking, as well as a non-discrimination clause to prohibit any grantee from discriminating against a child based on sexual orientation or gender identity. This new language would provide critical protection for the approximately 40 percent of homeless youth who identify as LGBT (Leahy, 2014).

Leahy, who has long been a champion of youth services provided by the original Runaway and Homeless Youth Protection Act and fought for its reauthorization in 1998 and again in 2003, urged all Senators to support the bipartisan legislation. The bill is supported by the National Network for Youth, the Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking, the True Colors Fund and the Human Rights Campaign, among many others (Leahy, 2014).

“Supporting our youth when they are most in need, and helping to get them back on their feet benefits us all,” Leahy said. “Homeless children are less likely to finish school, more likely to enter our juvenile justice system, and are ill-equipped to find a job. The services authorized by this bill are designed to intervene early and encourage the development of successful, productive young adults” (Leahy, 2014).

“Despite the recent decline we have seen in chronic homelessness, there are still more than 1.6 million homeless teens in the United States,” Collins said. “As the Ranking Member of the Housing Appropriations Subcommittee, I have made it my goal to address chronic homelessness. We must make sure our nation’s homeless youth have the same opportunity to succeed as other youth. The programs reauthorized by this bill are critical in helping homeless youth stay off the street and find stable, sustainable housing. I look forward to working with Senator Leahy to quickly move this bill through the Senate and House so that the President can sign it into law" (Leahy, 2014).

5. Change message, Change direction

A commerical was released by which included laughter, hand clapping, and an array of playful teens. At the end of the video the message 'I love my life, I don't want to mess it up with a pregnancy' was voiced by a young girl. tells us that their purpose is 'to encourage you to enjoy your teen years and avoid the responsibilities that come with too early pregnancy and parenting' and that 'we're not telling you how to live your life... we just want to give you some food for thought' (

Though their creation is said to be based on righteousness, the facts and statements that follow prove negatively otherwise.

Facts like 'Parenthood is the leading reason why teen girls drop out of school' (1) and 'Children of teen mothers do worse in school' (2) are accompanied by partial statements like 'Be honest- There are a million things you'd rather be doing than changing a diaper, right' (1,2,3,

Examples of teen parent life are not given in factual documentary videos but portrayed by clips from 'The Secret Life of The American Teenager' and '16 & Pregnant'. Both are major television series' each heavily produced and one openly scripted.

The combination of improper/biased examples with harsh facts creates an illusion for the reader, mentally assuming that nothing good comes from a teen pregnancy. And with the title 'StayTeen', we can only assume that after a teen pregnancy, you are no longer a teen; that you are no longer a teenager.

This message is all wrong, and needs to be adjusted truthfully. A pregnancy does not mess up a life, the actions surrounding the pregnancy may ''mess up'' a life, but it is not the pregnancy itself that has ''messed up'' a teen life; nor discontinued the title 'teenager' from a person.

6. Install fencing along train tracks at Beaconsfield / Berwick to prevent teen suicide

There has been too many teenage suicides on these tracks in the last few years and so many more that thankfully were prevented.

Students from Narre Warren to Pakenham are aware of their friends who have taken their lives in spots along the railways at Beaconsfield/Officier that are now even well known to police where they go to take their own lives.

We need to have fencing installed or some other drastic measure place along the lines to prevent our beautiful children from taking their lives. So many deaths and its all over the news, newspapers and thought out the community.

7. Get society to see what they are doing; time to transform society

Grades are getting low, the teens are getting high. That 12 year old is pregnant and her parents wonder why. A 1st grader is swearing, a 3rd grader has been raped. Just take a look around you, isn't the system great? Who isn't faded these days, teens are sending nudes, kids are getting beaten, the teachers see the bruises.

No calls for help are spoken, teens are smoking weed, young girls are cutting, this isn't what we need. The marks of taunt and yelling, parents are divorced. That 14 year old is drinking beer, this can't get any worse. A little girl has killed herself, nobody seems to care. Another kid has been expelled for a stupid dare. But it needs to change. Our world is officially broken. It's time to take a stand, your thoughts need to be

8. Bring back the original teen titans on cartoon network

Cartoon Network has brought back our beloved show, Teen Titans, but in the worst way imaginable. We asked for the original for years now and all they gave us was this poorly animated 12 minute show called Teen Titans Go!

I could go on forever about how much I hate the show, but instead I could go on forever about how the old one was better. The animation was brilliant, the voice acting and character writing was very well done (except for gizmo, he sounds like a girl),and overall was one of the most popular show on cartoon network. I, myself have been watching it since I was a year old.

9. Don't Cut Campaign: Awareness rather than self-harm

The Don't Cut Campaign is aimed at young people, but open to everyone. We aim to make the world aware that self-harm is a major issue, and should be fought against.

There are other ways of expressing issues that may be causing people trouble, rather than self-harm.

13. Decrease Voting Age Requirement

I am 14 years old and I am very interested in politics, more than most kids my age. I would love to get involved in the political process and many other teenagers, younger and older than myself, want to also, but there is something stopping us, the age requirement.

Teens can make wise decisions despite the stereotype that we magically become mature at the age of 18. Teens can make a big difference and our opinions aren't random. I would much like to see the voting age requirement decreased to the age of 17, this does not mean that we are legal adults.

Teens could be required to take a class when they reach this age of 17 in order to educate themselves on the voting process and how to determine who they want to vote for, not what pop culture is endorsing.

14. Australian People Demand an Early Election

This Labor government is dead in the water. It has lost its way… yet again. Its incompetence and arrogance has led it to be effectively at war with Australia. Its call to class warfare and attempts to divide and conquer Australians in order to enforce incompetent policies have failed.

Citizens, businesses and whole industries are now in unprecedented open revolt against its insane carbon tax, its brainless spendthrift programs and disastrous refugee policies. Labor now trashes our economy and neighbours with one bizarre political quick fix after another. Worst of all, it has no idea how to regroup and get back to governing and has no answers other than to pathologically project all its failings onto Tony Abbott. It no longer listens to it’s citizens and we no longer listen to it. It is now incapable of learning, condemned to repeat their bungling from East Timor to Malaysia, from roof insulation to TV set top boxes.

For it’s own sake and that of Australia, Labor needs to be removed from government and be allowed to disassemble and be reborn again. After all, it is not in our interest for Labor to self-destruct – we need two healthy and vibrant, competing political parties.

15. Justice For Junior

On May 5th, 2010, Junior Alexander Manon, an 18 year old teenager, more commonly known as, TUBZ, was beaten to death by seven police officers from 31 Division, Toronto, Ontario. Junior's beating was the result of a short chase, that commenced after a "routine" stop in his car. The media has falsified this information by reporting his death as being due to cardiac arrest, despite the fact that, his body was found covered in his blood, he had bruised ribs, black and blue eyes and a broken neck. This information has also been omitted from news reports.

His ultimate cause of death was determined to be a broken neck. Unfortunately stories like this are not uncommon in certain parts of Toronto.
