1. Jewish Prayer on the Temple Mount Now!

Last week UNESCO held a truly infamous vote to de-Judaize Jerusalem and the Temple Mount and was quickly condemned by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu by declaring UNESCO “The theater of the absurd”.

The truth is that the State of Israel set the stage for this vote long ago via its anti-Jewish policy on the Temple Mount. Jews who come to visit the Mount are harassed and Jews who are found praying or worshiping are arrested.

Should UNESCO and other international organizations be held to a higher standard than the Israeli Government?

2. Condemnation of Turkey's 1974 invasion of Cyprus and its on-going occupation of the North of the island

On the 20th of July 1974, Turkish troops invaded the Republic of Cyprus. Since then, 37% of the island is under Turkish occupation, with almost 200,000 Greeks of the island being displaced from their homes and 1508 people still missing. The on-going division of the island was reinforced by the 1983 illegal declaration of the occupied North of Cyprus as an independent state, the so-called “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”, a pseudo-state only recognised by Turkey.

Part of Turkey’s attempt to ethnically cleanse Cyprus and create a Turkish protectorate in the North of the island was, and still is, the demographic alteration of the occupied North by bringing thousands of settlers from Turkey to Cyprus, a war crime they are trying to legitimise through the negotiations between the Republic of Cyprus and the leaders of the so called “TRNC”.

3. MINUSTAH GO HOME

This petition began as a natural offspring of a dominical radio show, Radio Optimum, broadcast in New York, NY. A large number of participants have called for an end to the occupation of Haiti by the U.N. forces. With this document, the leadership of Radio Optimum has fulfilled its promises and responsibilities to take the lead in preparing a Petition to be signed by all patriots whether in Haiti or in the Diaspora.

PETITION, MINUSTAH GO HOME

The presence of the U.N. Mission for the Stabilization of Haiti (MINUSTAH) is an unacceptable violation of our national sovereignty as proclaimed in our Constitution. It has become a clear violation of the very values and principles of the United Nations Organization. Among those are the inalienable right of all people to self-determination, self-rule, and peaceful pursuit of national interests. Moreover, this mission is inefficient and counter-productive with respect to all of the goals it initially set out to achieve. Finally, it inflicts a profound and painful wound in our national pride. Therefore the MINUSTAH must go!

To Wit:
Whereas the Mission was to strengthen the rule of law and the respect of human rights, the members of the U.N. forces rather harass the Haitian youth into prostitution and even resort to rape, and sodomy.
Whereas the Mission was to improve the security of Haitian citizens, we rather assist at a new surge of kidnapping and insecurity every time the contract of the Minustah is about to expire.

Whereas the Mission was to heighten the development of electoral capacity, the internationals rather substitute themselves to the will of the Haitian people and simply impose their choices for presidents, senators, and representatives in defiance of our electoral laws.

Whereas the Mission was to foster good governance, the UN forces rather provide unconditional protection to their hand-picked governments thereby shielding the same into poor performance with impunity.

Whereas the Mission was to save lives, it instead caused the death of over 7,500 innocent victims through the introduction and dissemination of the cholera disease by a component of the U.N. forces in Haiti. Recent statistics published by the “Partners in Health” organization indicate that to date 600,885 people got sick of cholera while 76,981 new cases were diagnosed in 2012.

The above is clearly a dismal result for the billions of US dollars being spent by the Minustah. This practice must end. Truly the problems of Haiti are for Haitians to resolve peacefully through an active and effective dialogue. Toward this end, we hereby summon the government of Haiti and all the political forces in our nation to reject violence as a political tool and to reach a Pact of Governability by May 2014.

VERSION FRANCAISE:

6. US/UN/MINUSTAH OUT OF HAITI!

Please sign this petition!

The history of the present occupation of Haiti by the US/UN/MINUSTAH forces is a history of repeated injuries, kidnappings and murders. The presence of the US/UN/MINUSTAH forces in Haiti is all having to do with the establishment of absolute control over the country in order to plunder, slaughter, rape subjugate and rob Haitians of their wealth, freedom and human dignity.

The US/UN/MINUSTAH forces have kept in Haiti, in times of peace, a standing army of over 12,000 foreigners without the consent of the Haitian people.

The US/UN/MINUSTAH forces have maneuvered to render its military force independent of, and superior to Haiti’s civil power.

The US/UN/MINUSTAH forces have brought in large bodies of armed troops among the population and disseminated them throughout the country:

The US/UN/MINUSTAH forces have preempted Haiti’s Constitution, and declared themselves invested with power to legislate Haiti’s laws in all cases whatsoever (Ex. Their recent involvement in the voting fiasco).

The US/UN/MINUSTAH forces have declared and waged war against Haitians and by killing and maiming Haitians without due process (Ex. Raids on Citee Soleil, July 6, 2005 and again on December 22, 2006 among others).

The US/UN/MINUSTAH forces have plundered Haiti’s seas, ravaged its coasts, burnt its towns, introduced deadly epidemics, raped its women, sexually assaulted its young men, and destroyed the lives of the Haitian people.

The US/UN/MINUSTAH forces are at this time contracting with large groups of foreign mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation, and tyranny they had already begun, with more and more documented circumstances of brutality & betrayal.

In every stage of these oppressions Haitians have petitioned and protested for redress in the most humble terms, but each repeated petitions have been met and answered only by repeated injuries, mutilations and killings. Haitians have appealed to the US/UN/MINUSTAH forces chains of command for justice and fairness, and Haitians have pleaded with them to disavow these violent crimes being committed against the people, however, everyone in the chains of command have been deaf to the voices of the people pleading for justice and of fairness.

As a direct consequence of this Declaration, relying on the protection of the Haitian people, R.H.E.C.I.F.S. is hereby urging the US/UN/MINUSTAH forces operating illegally in Haiti to reconsider their involvement in the killings of Haitians and ask that they quickly find a solution for a timetable to complete their withdrawal from the country, with peace and honor.

7. Boycott Israeli products and support the BDS Campaign

Since 1948, Israel has denied Palestinians their fundamental rights of freedom, equality, and self-determination through ethnic cleansing, colonization, racial discrimination, and military occupation. Despite abundant condemnation of Israeli policies by the UN, other international bodies, and preeminent human rights organisations, the world community has failed to hold Israel accountable and enforce compliance with basic principles of law. Israel’s crimes have continued with impunity.

In view of this continued failure, Palestinian civil society called for a global citizens’ response. On July 9 2005, a year after the International Court of Justice’s historic advisory opinion on the illegality of Israel’s Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), a clear majority of Palestinian civil society called upon their counterparts and people of conscience all over the world to launch broad boycotts, implement divestment initiatives, and to demand sanctions against Israel, until Palestinian rights are recognised in full compliance with international law.

As a result of Israel’s war in Gaza, with its death toll of over 1,300 Palestinians and allegations of multiple war crimes, there has been a large upsurge in support for the already growing global campaign for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it fully complies with its obligations under international law and recognises the fundamental human rights of Palestinians.

The BDS campaign has been endorsed by over 170 Palestinian political parties, organizations, trade unions and movements. The signatories represent the refugees, Palestinians in the OPT, and Palestinian citizens of Israel. It is worth noting that a boycott is also supported by many Israeli citizens and Jewish organizations including European Jews for a Just Peace, Breaking the Law of Return (consisting of over 100 American Jews) Ilan Pappe (Israeli Professor of History based in UK) and Michel Warschawski (Israeli journalist).

Artists who have voiced support for the campaign or cancelled appearances in Israel citing political reasons include musicians Elvis Costello, Brian Eno, Gil Scott Heron, Pete Seeger, The Pixies, Roger Waters, writers Eduardo Galeano and Arundhati Roy, filmmakers Ken Loach and Jean-Luc Godard. In 2010, UNITE, the UK’s largest trade union, unanimously called for BDS.

History ultimately proved the effectiveness and necessity of the boycott campaign in helping bring an end to Apartheid in South Africa. Amid the desperate pleas of Palestinians and concerned Israelis, we can no longer resort to the same discredited arguments that were used against boycotting Apartheid South Africa. The illegal Israeli occupation on Palestine must end.

8. End the Occupation of Iraq before the end of 2011 حملة ﻹنهاء احتلال العراق قبل نهاية السنة الجارية

The US and Iraq have been in war for 20 years. It started with the 1991 bombing, followed by 13 years of economic sanctions and air-strikes, and now over 8 years of military occupation.

The US-Iraqi security agreement requires all the US troops to leave Iraq by December 31st 2011. It also requires that all US military bases are shut down or handed over to the Iraqi government by the same deadline.

9. End to Glasgow University Student Occupations

On the 22nd of March 2011 the University of Glasgow tried to evict the students occupying the Hetherington Building.

This was met with considerable resistance by those within the building and a large police presence was required to keep things under control.

After this, protesters moved to the Senate Rooms to begin a new occupation. The protesters have called police actions 'heavy handed'.

10. International Support for Cambridge Defend Education

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STUDENT OCCUPATION AT CAMBRIDGE HAS ENDED. HOWEVER, I HAVE LEFT THIS PETITION ACTIVE SO THAT INDIVIDUALS CAN CONTINUE TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT FOR THE STUDENTS.

On November 26, 2010, students at the University of Cambridge occupied the Old Schools Senior Combination Room to protest the British government's proposed fee increases and cuts to higher education. The 500 year old Old Combination Room is the administrative center of the University of Cambridge.

The efforts by Cambridge students are part of a broader struggle on the part of students throughout the United Kingdom to oppose the dismantling of Britain's higher education system and its decline into a privatized system.

11. Stop the Machinery of Occupation: Boycott Israel

Vermonters for a Just Peace in Palestine/Israel

“There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part; you can’t even tacitly take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop.” - Mario Savio, Student Leader of the Berkeley Free Speech Movement, 1964

More than four decades of Israeli military occupation have passed, eviscerating the dream of building a viable, sovereign Palestinian state. 500,000 Jewish settlers now live in segregated, heavily fortified colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in violation of international law. They control most of the territory’s best land and water resources—land and water stolen from Palestinians. In Gaza, 1.5 million Palestinians, most of them refugees and terribly poor, are trapped in the world’s largest “open-air prison.”

Closures, checkpoints and roadblocks, targeted assassinations and settler terrorism, home demolitions, military incursions and arbitrary detentions, an economic blockade and massive “Separation Wall,” razed farm land, olive groves and fruit orchards, poisoned wells and livestock, interminable delays in movement—these measures of collective punishment, colonization and ethnic-racial separation make normal life impossible for Palestinians in the occupied territories.

For all who cherish justice and liberty it is time to unite in the cause of freedom for the Palestinian people and send an unequivocal message of nonviolent resistance to the state of Israel, just as we did to South Africa’s Apartheid regime in the 1980s.

It is time to BOYCOTT Israel and all businesses, academic centers and cultural institutions that support, maintain or benefit from the occupation of the Palestinian territories.

In 2005, over 170 civic organizations representing the breadth of Palestinian society issued a historic joint call to the world:

"We, representatives of Palestinian civil society, call upon international civil society organizations and people of conscience all over the world to impose broad boycotts and implement divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era. We appeal to you to pressure your respective states to impose embargoes and sanctions against Israel. We also invite conscientious Israelis to support this Call, for the sake of justice and genuine peace...."

To Vermonters who cherish justice and liberty, who are inspired by the state motto—“Freedom and Unity”—it is time to unite in the cause of freedom for the Palestinian people and send an unequivocal message of nonviolent resistance to the state of Israel, just as we did to South Africa’s Apartheid regime in the 1980s.

13. Stop Military Funding to Israel

Israel has ignored international law and specifically U.N. Resolution 242 which calls for Israel to withdraw from Palestinian territory.

It is against U.S. law to transfer funds to Israel, a country defying this U.N. Resolution. Yet the U.S. continues to pour $3Billion U.S. taxpayers dollars into Israel yearly.

This money is used to purchase and develop weapons that are used to continue the illegal Occupation of Palestine. ..

14. Free Tibet

For over more than 50 years the tibetan people have been occupied by the chinese governemant.

This occupation has led to the repressement and the torture of more than the threemillion tibetan people. for over 1.2million tibetan people has already die during the chinese occupation.

The beautiful culture of tibet was nearly destroyed when chinese soldiers burnt many temples and buildings who are are crucial for the religion and culture of tibet.

Still now the chinese gouvernement motivates chinese people to live in tibet by giving them bounties, wich leads to the financial repression of the tibetan people.

Still today, the tibetan people have little rights. They can't critisize the chinese gouvernement, they can't talk to tourists, they may not have picture of His Holiness The Dalai Lama...

Many people live still in foreign countries because they're afraid to go back. Even H.H The Dalai Lama isn't safe if he goes back.

That's why we have to make sure that the UN and other international organisations cause an international pressure upon China to make sure the Tibetan people can live in peace and harmony whit their religion.

I ask you to please sign this petition to end the chinese occupation.

Thank you!

15. Break continuity of the Polish State with PPR

The Republic of Poland was being under German and Soviet occupation since 1939 untill the first free election in 1994.

This petition is to uniquely condemn the legal statue of communist state under Soviet occupation the Peoples Polish Republic by the statutory decision.

16. Get USA out of IRAQ.

United States armed forces, in an effort to enforce UN resolutions regarding Saddam Hussain's Government in Iraq invaded beginning March 19, 2003. After two years of occupation and an election, US troops are still there. They should not be.

Bases for permanent occupation are being built. Tens of thousands of civilians have died as a direct result of our aggression.

17. Jewish Americans Want Politicians to Work for Peace in Israel/Palestine

"The world rests on three things: on justice, on truth, and on peace. And all three are one, for where there is justice, there is also truth, and there is peace."

-Talmud, Ta'anit, 4:2

Cynthia McKinney paid a price for speaking the truth. As a Representative of the United States Congress, she had the conviction and courage to state what so many of her colleagues think privately but are hesitant to say publicly: Israel's 37-year-old military occupation of the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem is wrong and that ending this occupation is a prerequisite for there to be peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Like the rabbis of the Talmud, Ms. McKinney understands that the strands which bind together peace and justice are inseparable. Israelis cannot expect to live in peace and security while their government is engaged in a land grab and degrading military occupation that denies their neighbors, the Palestinians, their individual human rights and their collective right of self-determination.

Ms. McKinney's willingness in Congress to question Israel's military occupation of the Palestinians earned her the ire of some Jewish American organizations. These institutions demonized Ms. McKinney both before and during her 2002 Democratic primary race and political action committees aligned with them pumped substantial funds into the election campaign of her challenger, Denise Majette. Flush with funds and the support of Republicans who "crossed over" and voted for her in the Georgia primary to punish Ms. McKinney for her critical analysis of the Bush Administration's "war on terror", Ms. Majette won her primary election and one of Congress' most important voices was stilled temporarily. However, Ms. McKinney is undaunted by this defeat and is seeking to reclaim her seat in the House of Representatives in 2004.
