HB 3002 helps severely disabled Texas veterans with a VA rating of 80% and 90% who currently today only receive $290 annual property tax relief to receive property tax exemption on their homestead at a percentage equal to their VA disability rating percentage. This will help over 58,ooo disabled veterans in Texas who need the most help with property tax relief. Time is critical and action needs to take place now. We, the undersign support HB 3002 and call upon the Texas House Ways and Means Committee, especially Chairman Dennis Bonnen to support HB 3002 disabled veteran property tax relief to move to a House floor vote so that the Texas citizens / tax payers can have the right to vote on the ballot in November to extend property tax relief to severely disabled veterans in Texas.
