Wagga Wagga City Council has proposed to stop all trucks from parking in the Main St of Tarcutta, NSW post bypass and prohibiting any transport related business from starting within the Village. This is to be passed in their DCP (Development Control Plan).
We need to stop this from happening. Tarcutta has been Australia's own Transport town since trucks started running the Hume Highway.

We, the undersigned, petition the Wagga Wagga City Council, NSW State Government and Federal Government to oppose the proposed intent by the Wagga Wagga City Council in their Draft 2010 DCP to prohibit Truck Depots, Freight Transport Facilities and Transport Depots and their intent to discourage Truck Parking along the Highway within the Tarcutta Village” These proposed plans will impact on the economic sustainability of the Tarcutta Village and result in the Village’s demise.
We request that the Village of Tarcutta remain a “Transport Town” and the current heavy vehicle heavy transport parking remain in place, post Tarcutta Bypass and not be restricted to only the changeover facility, nor any limit on size of heavy vehicle entering the Village boundaries.
