It is intended to ask the KLCC Management to revise their current parking rate, and to show to them that many concerned members of the public are aware and agree that the current rate is just too expensive, if not unreasonable.

Many have to swallow their frustration when they come to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and use its underground parking space. Many suffer in silence and many more migrate to other malls with cheaper parking rates.

Indeed, the KLCC parking space remains to be fully occupied, which only makes the greedy KLCC management even more happy to turn down the thousands of complaints already sent to them, since they never really get highlighted over the media, and nobody seems to be bold enough to raise the matter in a larger scale so as to bring some attention to the KLCC management, even though we know there are tens of thousands of disappointed members of the public over their ridiculous parking rate.

That is the target of this petition. It is intended to ask the KLCC Management to revise their current parking rate, and to show to them that many concerned members of the public are aware and agree that the current rate is just too expensive, if not unreasonable.

The current rate of KLCC parking space is as follows:

Monday - Saturday:
1st hour RM3.00
Consequent hour RM2.00

Sunday and Public Holidays:
1st 3 hours RM4.00
Every 1/2 hour and part thereof RM1.00

*Maximum rate of RM5.00 only applicable after 5pm on Weekdays

Compared to rates in other public places and shopping malls, KLCC has the most pocket-squeezing ones. At one time, a visitor could be charged up to RM18 - RM20 per ticket. There should be a reasonable maximum rate capped every day of the week because RM18 - RM20 is just too much for a parking space! Even if you claim that KLCC is a landmark and thus deserve a tourist rate, tourists usually use cabs or other public transport, while the locals become the victim of the expensive parking rate.

We thus hold that KLCC Management should:

1. Revise their parking rate to be more reasonable with the price of a 'parking space'.

2. Impose a maximum cap so that we are not charged ridiculously.

3. Take other shopping malls as an example of their considerate parking rates towards the public.
