Region: Australia
Target: Maroondah City Council
Background (Preamble):
TELL Maroondah Council it is time for action to make our streets safe for walkers.

The Council was informed about the unacceptable situation with illegally parked cars and numerous obstructions on the nature strips/footpaths in Loughnan Hill area and didn’t take any action.

We will quote Harold Scruby the Chairman of the Pedestrian Council of Australia Ltd.,

“Clearly, your Council has decided to turn its collective blind eyes to the offences of parking on footpaths, nature strips and in driveways, amongst others.”
Petition:
We, the undersigned residents of Ringwood North and supporters request the council to provide us with a safe walking environment on the local streets by enforcing nature strip/footpath parking laws, enforcing building materials storage regulations and immediate removal of existing dangerous footpaths obstructions.

We demand more frequent inspections of our streets by Council inspectors and by-laws officers.

We seek an immediate undertaking in writing from the Council to implement an effective and efficient education and enforcement program for the local residents to be followed by regular audits.
