- The Honorable Leona Aglukkaq, Canadian Minister of Environment
It all started in the 1800s. Seals migrated from Greenland to the coast of Newfoundland to breed, only to find greedy hunters with deadly clubs. They clubbed the thousands of seals to death every year.
The most terrible thing is, they still do it now, even though most countries have stopped importing seal fur. The way of death for these lovely animals is terrible and cruel. It must stop.
Innocent, pregnant seals migrated from their homeland for refuge, only to find death by being beaten by clubs. This terrible and in-humane way of death is cruel.
Many markets do not sell seal fur anymore, and many countries do not import seal fur either. This point-less killing must stop.
We, the undersigned, call upon The Honorable Leona Aglukkaq, Canadian Minister of the Environment to ban all seal slaughter.
The Stop the Canadian Seal Slaughter petition to The Honorable Leona Aglukkaq, Canadian Minister of Environment was written by Danielle and is in the category Animal Welfare at GoPetition.
