Stop access to children in child contact centres by a parent convicted of child cruelty
- United Kingdom
Fathers and Mothers who have been convicted of child cruelty to their children still have contact in a contact centres or have another member of their family supervise the visit in their own home. This has to stop now.
If they abuse the children in a contact centre or whilst supported or supervised the courts still give them access! The contact centres say they did not see anything as they are busy watching up to 10 children coupled with 10 fathers or mothers, if one needs the toilet that is makes up to 38 people to be watched during that time, this is when the parent strikes out at the kids, whisper in their ears and the abuse starts all over again. Nobody but nobody is doing anything to stop this.
It is unbelievable that this country would send a victim to the offender week after week to be abused. The courts don’t hear the children telling them of horrendous things of bruises on their little bodies or see tiny children aged 2 And 3 lift their tops to show bruises.
Please help me to change the law. No contact of any description for any parent convicted of any violent or sexual offence to their children until the child is 18 years of age. Sign my petition for our kid’s sake!
We the undersigned call on the British Government to change the law and protect our children under the convention of the human right of a child:
The Convention sets out these rights in 54 articles and Optional Protocols. It spells out the basic human rights that children everywhere have: the right to survival; to develop to the fullest; to protection from harmful influences, abuse and exploitation. The principles of the Convention are non-discrimination; devotion to the best interests of the child; the right to life, survival and development; and respect for the views of the child.
Every right spelled out in the Convention is inherent to the human dignity and harmonious development of every child. Britain is not upholding this right and consistently gives access to parents who have been convicted of child abuse or cruelty and where abuse is still being carried out.
Our children are the lonely island of no voice, where there parents swim in the sea screaming their rights. We want our children to be heard.
We want the law changed. If a parent is convicted of any violent, sexual or mental abuse to their children then access is stopped and denied until the child is 18 years old with immediate effect.
The Stop access to children in child contact centres by a parent convicted of child cruelty petition to Britain was written by Mandy Spraggett and is in the category Children's Rights at GoPetition.
