Scottish Government - Ban the Burn - Protect Invergordon and Protect Scotland
- Scottish Ministers (Scottish Parliament)
- United Kingdom
On May 11th 2010 the Independent Reporter, employed by the Scottish Government, overturned the decision made by the Officially elected Highland Councillors and gave the go ahead to CPC Highland Ltd to build the Incinerator in Invergordon.
This decision flys in the face of democracy and is an Environmental and Social injustice.
With this petition we the undersigned call on the Scottish Ministers to RECALL this decision to parliament at the earliest opportunity, so that the community of Invergordon and the Highlands get a fair hearing and justice is obtained.
We also demand that Incinerators are banned across Scotland!
In August last year the Highland councillors and the people of Invergordon and the surrounding communities categorically and unanimously said NO to an Incinerator in their town.
This decision by the reporter is undemocratic and is an Environmental and Social Injustice, that will affect the health and happiness of not only the adults but the children for many years to come.
We as a community have the right to be heard in a fair and just way and this has not occurred, we therefore require that the Scottish Ministers RECALL This Decision to Parliament, so that the people of the Highlands can be heard.
IINTW (Invergordon Incinerator No To Waste).
