Currently, any pit-bull type dog that is taken to the Licking County Animal Shelter is euthanized if the owner does not reclaim. Rescues and families are not allowed to adopt them.
The BSL is unjust and proves racial (breed) profiling in animals. Public records are not being disclosed so the number of pit bull type dogs that are euthanized are not known.
We, the undersigned citizens of Newark, OH, are asking for the BSL ordinance against pit bull type dogs to be dropped completely.
