Churches and Institutional Organisations still hold the records of our abuse. We need our records for our legal cases against these Churches and Institutional Organisations. They don't want to hand these records over because they know we need them to help prove our cases.
The Royal Commission can demand that they hand these records over, it is our human rights to be able to have access to our own records. In the case of people with disabilities or those deceased there relatives need access to their records.
We ask that the ROYAL COMMISSION INTO INSTITUTIONAL RESPONSES TO CHILD SEX ABUSE demand that all Churches and Institutional Organisations hand over all records held by them. These can be handed to the State archives in each State and Territory for safe keeping and secure access.
