Professor Dan Odom has been teaching at Conn College for the past five years as a visiting professor. This is a very long time to spend as a visiting professor since most would have left where they would be offered full-time positions. In addition, Professor Odom is by far the most helpful professor in the Biology department.
He is well-known for staying on Sundays from 1pm until 11pm simply to provide aid for students. There are no other professors in the Science Department that have gone to his extremes. He would be a huge asset to the school and the Biology Department. Without him, the Bio students would be lost.
There is no doubt that he should be hired as a full time professor. Both Odom and the student body would benefit immensely.
I support the petition to grant Professor Dan Odom a position as a full time professor in the Biology Department of Connecticut College.
