Youth Insearch has temporarily suspended its services and is relocating and reorganizing to provide an even better service.

Youth Insearch provides a powerful program that inspires young people, through the support of their peers, to make better choices in life. They are often products of alcohol and drug abuse, sexual abuse and violence. Many have turned to crime and considered or attempted suicide.
Youth Insearch is empowering these young Australian’s to turn their disadvantage into an advantage. 44% of those attending Youth Insearch had attempted suicide. (60% have thought about it!) After attending the weekend programs, 97% of young people report no longer feeling suicidal.
But as demand for the program increases, so too does the need for further Government assistance. Only 20% of Youth Insearch is funded by Government and thousands of ‘at-risk’ young people cannot receive the support they so desperately need.
Youth Insearch has requested Government funding of $601,200 per annum to help 1900 young people who desperately need it. This equates to the Government contributing $316 per young person.
The cost for not helping these young people is estimated to cost between $3.8m and $30.4m per annum in health, welfare and legal costs. The moral and financial logic is so compelling that Rotary and Lions are joining together to support a petition to the Government to significantly increase funding for Youth Insearch.

There is an urgent moral imperative and massive cost saving in supporting the effective, preventative interventions of Youth Insearch.
Youth Insearch has made repeated requests for a minimal increase in funding to allow it to continue to expand its work to save the lives of growing numbers of Australian youths in crisis.
We the undersigned implore you: Please don’t ignore this petition. The lives of so many teenagers are at risk. When we vote, we vote for Australia’s future.
