This petition asks the child support table in Ontario to be reviewed. A parent living pay check to pay check should not have to pay a parent who makes half a million dollars a year in order to see their child. Child custody should not be a right of the higher income parent only. With access to better private lawyers, a high income parent can skew the law to deny the child complete access to one of their parents. It is never ok for a parent who makes over half a million dollar/year to deny access from a parent who lives up check to pay check based on child support. It is never ok to drive one of the parents to financial ruin in order to see their child.
We, the citizens of Canada, request that a fair review of the child support tables be conducted and approved through a general consensus only.
