The expartiate Tamil community is perturbed at the trend of thought circulating currently in the International Media, Reuters in particular, quoting International Diplomats in Colombo as saying Europe would include the LTTE on its list of banned organisations by Friday.
We wish to appeal to the European Union to refrain from proscribing the LTTE in Europe.
With the Sri Lanka armed forces and the paramilitaries already on a rampage with massacres of Tamil civilians, involuntary disappearances and extra-judicial killings with impunity exceeding 190 in number within six weeks, we are making this urgent appeal to the International Community at large and the EU in particular, to warn the terrorist state of Sri Lanka to refrain from atrocities perpetrated against the Tamil civilians and prevail on President Rajapakse to remove barriers for the resumption of Peace Talks.
