Formal dances were previously allowed at Coquihalla Middle School until this year, when the faculty decided that there was not going to be a formal dance for the Grade 8 class.
We, the Grade 8 students of CMS, believe this restriction to be a, in lack of a better word, stupid, pathetic, and outragous act.
For many students the year-end formal is the highlight of their Grade 8 year, and it does not seem fair in any way that these teachers should be able to take that away from us because of their personal beliefs.
We, the Grade 8 students of Coquihalla Middle School, call on the school faculty to allow the much-loved event of the year, the Grade 8 Year-End Formal.
