1. End Illegal Wild Life Trade on Facebook

Facebook does not seem to care about protecting endangered species. Evidence of this is to be seen everywhere on websites. I personally have seen and reported hundreds of cases where endangered wildlife is being sold on Facebook. There have been petitions against TripAdvisor for the same issue.

To see tiger and sun bear parts, being sold on social media is extremely disheartening to say the least. Please look on Facebook for these things if you do not believe me and then sign this petition for the sake of endangered species around the globe.

Here is one profile that is showing men smoking from illegal ivory in Vietnam. Facebook says it is not against their policy to care about this. Now it is up to you to put an end to it!

2. Save Tiger Mountain Community High School Initiative

In June, the Issaquah School Superintendent Ron Thiele made a recommendation to the School Board that Tiger Mountain Community High School (TMCHS) be closed after the 2014-15 school Year.

TMCHS is an alternative High School that serves at risk students within the Issaquah School District.

Many people in the community feel that TMCHS is the best avenue in serving this vulnerable population, and closing it would be detrimental to many of the students.

3. PETITION TO RENAME WILSON TIGER STADIUM: ”HORACE FLEMING FIELD AT TIGER STADIUM”

WE WISH FOR YOU TO APPROVE OUR REQUEST TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE WILSON TIGER STADIUM TO HORACE FLEMING STADIUM UPON OPENING OF THE NEW CAMPUS OF WOODROW WILSON IN THE FALL OF 2011.

WE HOPE TO HAVE THIS SET IN STONE BY HAVING COACH FLEMING’S NAME SOMEWHERE RECOGNIZABLE IN THE STADIUM. ME AND MY PEERS FEEL THAT COACH FLEMING'S 30 PLUS YEARS AS A COACH, TEACHER, COUNSELOR, A FATHER FIGURE TO MANY, AND PLENTY OTHER TITLES MAKE IT NECESSARY FOR HIS ACTIONS TO BE RECOGNIZED.

WE FEEL THAT THIS WOULD BE THE BEST WAY AS GROUP TO SHOW OUR GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION. THERE IS TOO MUCH TO PUT INTO WORDS HERE.

4. Save endangered White Tigers

White tigers are hunted by poachers so that they may be made into Chinese medicine and all the body parts are used for products or food that's why tigers or white tigers are endangered.

5. Stop tigers performing in Bermuda

There is a planned show at Fairmont Southampton in February and March 2011 featuring a disappearing live tiger.

The Bermuda Sun reports as follows:

Magician to offer 'the ultimate tiger encounter'

A tiger will be on stage as part of a hotel magic show next year. Magician Rick Thomas will be offering the ‘ultimate tiger encounter show’ at the Fairmont Southampton Resort from February 25 to March 5.

The award-winning illusionist and magician will make the white tiger “appear then disappear” at the Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre.

The show is being organized by the Sandys Rotary Club, who insist the tiger will remain in a cage “at all times.”

Mr. Thomas visited the hotel about five months ago and deemed it suitable for his show.

The tiger, which is one of six that he owns, will stay “absolutely securely” on site at the hotel and will be guarded by security guards.

Event manager Sandra Christensen said: “Everyone is really excited about the show, it’s something fun to go and see.

“It will mostly be illusions, Rick Thomas will also bring the tiger on stage, as well as birds and dancers.

“It will be a very interactive show. He will talk about the preservation of tigers and invite the audience to have their photo taken with the tiger.

“The tiger will be in a cage at all times. Rick Thomas has travelled to over 50 countries with his tigers, he knows what he is doing.”

Mr. Thomas will drive the tiger from Las Vegas to New York, before they travel to Bermuda by plane.

6. We Want Tiger!

Tiger Woods has made a terrible mistake, one which he obviously fully regrets and is trying to do everything he can to save his family. His fans want to show their support and encourage the #1 golfer in the world to return to the world of golf.

Golf is just not the same without him. It is time to unite and let him know that his fans are still there for him.

7. Apology wanted from La Presse newspaper regarding racist article

La Presse newspaper featured a racist article on December 12th 2009, written by one of their staff reporters, Natalie Petrowski. Concerned citizens are asking that an apology issued to all Quebecers and black communities in particular.

Here is the article:

8. Go Tiger

Tag Heuer on Friday announced that it was scaling back its use of golf superstar Tiger Woods in its ads, according to the Los Angeles Times.

We Don't Care about Tiger's critics.

We love Tiger Woods, the best golf player on the planet.

9. Save Hilltop Golf Course

Dear friend of Hilltop Golf Course,

As you may have read in recent newspaper articles, Birmingham City Council appears intent on closing down Hilltop Golf Course in Park Lane, Handsworth at any cost - and in the very near future!

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! We have now heard that Hiiltop Golf Course WILL close on January 1st 2010 - more than ever we need YOU to help us reverse this decision!

The council cites financial losses as its reason for closure, but at present, there is some disagreement between the council and those who use the venue - and its many and varied facilities - as to the reason(s) being given, proving 100% accurate!

The venue, (the facility also boasts football pitches,a running track and other leisure options that members of the public can use) has been providing the people of North Birmingham (and farther afield) with exciting and challenging golf - at a reasonable cost - for over thirty years and indeed is home to Hilltop Golf Club, which is one of Seven council authorised clubs based on The Birmingham Council municipal course 'ring'.

As a friend of Hilltop Golf Course, we are seeking YOUR help in trying to initially halt the council's attempts to shut this venue without proper consultation and we hope, through this petition, to at least buy some time for the venue so that proper financial and logistical investigations can be undertaken.

YOUR 'signature' CAN make a difference, so please, take a moment to help your fellow leisure facility users today.

Many thanks for your time.

10. Restore the RAF Yatesbury Airfield

The former RAF Yatesbury airfield dates back to WWI and the only reaming airfield with complete suite of buildings and hangars in the country. The hangars are listed Grade II* and believed to be the only remaining of it’s type in the world.

At the public inquiry, evidence was submitted by English Heritage that established that the site is of international, as well as national, importance. It retains “the best preserved flying field of the First World War period, bounded by one of the most complete suites of technical and hangar buildings of the period up to the end of the First World War period” and “the most complete of all 56 of the Civilian Training Schools built in the inter-war period”. At the time of its construction, this Flying School was singled out for praise by Flight Magazine which stated that “…they have unhesitatingly made at Yatesbury a model school whose pattern few will equal and none will better”.

English Heritage and Wiltshire County Council have spent great efforts to support the restoration of the airfield yet they failed to extend support at these difficult times by relaxing the onerous legal agreement they forced the owners to sign.

Jamal Khanfer has fought and waited 8 years before he succeeded in securing a planning consent, which ensures its survival for future generations. Jamal has sacrificed every thing possible to secure the consent financially, personally and gave up his very promising career.

The project is funded by RBS who have in October 2008 stopped funding the project. The project, however, remains widely supported by the local community and many associations as well as nationally and internationally.

11. Stop Palm Oil Plantations

Millions of hectares of natural rainforest in Indonesia are being destroyed, right as you read this, for palm oil plantations.

Not only is this detrimental for the environment, but for the animals that require this forest for homes and habitats.

Two endangered species, the orangutan and the Sumatran Tiger, are being driven from their homes, forced into villages looking for food and shelter, where they are captured and killed.

12. Stop circus animal abuse toward elephants

Jordan once forced a tiger to perform while sick and waited a month to cure a tiger's fractured leg. He has a past of agressive behavior towards elephants and he gives dirty drinking water to elephants and does not give any veterinarian care towards the animals.

* ONU, Règles pour la protection des mineurs privés de liberté (1990)
* Canada, Charte des droits et libertés
* Québec, Charte des droits et libertés de la personne
* Québec, Loi sur la protection de la jeunesse
* Québec, Code civil
* Québec, Loi sur les services de santé et les services sociaux
* Québec, Loi sur la curatelle publique

14. Tiger

TO: The Honourable Dr. Philippe Couillard, Quebec Minister of Health Services and Social Services

TO: Madame Nicole Malo, Public Curator

cc. The Honourable Mme Carole Théberge, Quebec Minister of Family, Seniors and the Status of Women

We, the undersigned, believe that the rights of the intellectually disabled young man, presently under tutorship of the Quebec public curator, and known by the alias of "Tiger" [documentation with his real identity already in possession of your office] have been and continue to be violated by establishments mandated under the Act respecting health services and social services to provide him with adequate care.

We believe that he has been, throughout his life, deprived of specific rights granted to all citizens and to which he was and is entitled under Quebec, Canadian and international law. Attached are specific rights, which we believe that Tiger was and is entitled to and has not been granted via the following:
* United Nations, Convention on the Rights of the Child, ratified by Canada in 1991
* United Nations, Rules for the Protection of Juveniles Deprived of their Liberty, (1990),
* Canadian Charter Of Rights And Freedoms;
* Quebec Charter Of Human Rights And Freedoms;
* Quebec, Youth Protection Act ;
* Quebec, Civil Code
* Quebec, An Act respecting health services and social services;
* Quebec, Public Curator Act;

We believe most notably that he has and continues to be deprived of the "personalised services" to which he has always been entitled to by the following article contained in the AHSSS:
"5. Every person is entitled to receive, with continuity and in a personalized manner, health services and social services which are scientifically, humanly and socially appropriate."

Fundamentally, we believe that not only has Tiger been deprived of his rights as stated above, but also that he has been mistreated, misdiagnosed, misplaced, neglected, abused, punished and persecuted all under the guise of "care" aimed at meeting his needs and interests.

Given that the Quebec Human Rights commission ruled in the year 2000, that Tiger's rights and specifically those related to his right to health, social and educational services granted under article 8 of the Youth Protection Act were violated and given that adequate measures have not been taken since this date to remedy his situation, we therefore request the following:

* There be an immediate stop to all forms of punitive behaviour toward Tiger;
* The Ministry conduct a complete and transparent investigation into the health services and social services that Tiger has received from the age of 2, when he first came to the attention of social services, to the present;
* The Ministry in conjunction with the Public Curator provide a full guarantee, as of now, that Tiger will receive services of the highest professional calibre, to be treated at all times with dignity and with respect for his rights;
* the Ministry in conjunction with the Public Curator actively work to remove all prejudice and bias which has been created as a result of the mismanagement of Tiger and his situation;
* Given the multitude of social and health services which have been involved in depriving Tiger of adequate services, the Ministry itself assume the full responsibility for the development and implementation of a comprehensive and long term plan. That Tiger, a representative from the Public Curator's office and person(s) selected by Tiger to assist him, participate in the development of such plan. This plan must of necessity include resources that would ensure Tiger's ongoing positive development, social adjustment and his becoming a fully contributing member of our society;
* An independent body be mandated to provide an assessment to determine how much, if any, financial compensation Tiger should receive in view of the serious negligence and harm that he has suffered by the health and social services establishments.

15. Stop the tiger trade

The Tiger, a majestic animal in so many ways is on the brink of extinction due to the following: Humans illegally trading tiger body parts, humans poaching tigers for their coats, and humans destroying the tigers habitat.

I created this petition to be the voice for the tigers because the tigers cannot speak for themselves. Three tiger sub-species have been wiped out in the past 100 years these species are the Javan tiger, Caspian tiger and the Bali tiger. The illegal trade and poaching of this animal is way out of control.

Tiger body parts have been used in traditional medicines for over 1,000 years! It is a proven fact that no part of the tiger contains any sort of healing power and is a complete myth. To prove the illiteracy of this act I shall share with you what tiger body parts are used for. The tiger's brain is used to cure laziness and pimples.

The tiger's eyes are used for the treatment of epilepsy, tiger whiskers are used to treat tooth aches and are used as good luck charmes in amulets, tiger bone is used to treat the following: rhuematism, weakness, stiffness, paralysis, tiger bone is ground into powder before being transformed into pills, plasters and decotions containing herbs, tiger bone is also cut into segments and soaked in wine.

The tigers' tail is used to treat skin diesease, and the list continues. This shows you how horribly ridiculous this really is and nobody seems to be taking action to help save our remaining wild tigers!

There use to be over 100,000 wild tigers in the world and today there are fewer than 7,000. This animal does not deserve to disappear from the face of the earth, it's beauty, intelligence and power deserves to stay upon this earth until the world itself vanishes.

If and when the tiger does become extinct it will prove nothing, it will be a hard hit devestation and hurt so many people who love, cherish and care for this animal. God placed the tiger upon this earth and only god should have the right to take it away NOT MAN.

So please take a moment to sign this petition which will be sent to the Prime Minister of India. This man needs to realize how badly these animals are endangered and all of the signatures from caring animal lovers will prove to him that we do care what happens to this animal.

Thank you so very much!!

Heidi

NOTE: Some information above was supplied from www.5tigers.org a very factual tiger website.

16. Save Our 'Smithy

In March of 2003, Ford revealed in the second issue of ThunderCats: The Return that the beloved tiger Bengali was no more. Now, I'm sure the Astral Plane is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there, and neither does Benny! Bring Back Bengali!

17. Bring the Tassie Tiger Back

The Tasmanian Tiger have long gone, but now, thanks to new technology, we can bring the Tassie Tiger back to life!!!
