1. Ban DHMO in Australia

Dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO) is colourless, odourless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there.

Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.

Dihydrogen monoxide is the major component of acid rain. It contributes to both the “greenhouse effect” and the erosion of our natural landscape, and may cause severe burns. DHMO accelerates the corrosion and rusting of many metals, may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes, and has been found in excised tumours of terminal cancer patients.

Contamination is reaching epidemic proportions! Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in Australia today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage all over the country.

In spite of the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used in the production of nuclear power, the manufacture of Styrofoam, and the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce still remains contaminated by this chemical. Dihydrogen monoxide is also used as a fire retardant, and as an industrial solvent and coolant. It is used in many cruel forms of animal research, and has often been taken by athletes to improve their performance. DHMO can also be used as a food additive, and is frequently found in junk food. It even has a tendency to accumulate in dairy products.

Dihydrogen monoxide is found in all municipal water supplies, and there is no filter on the market that is able to remove this hazardous substance from our drinking water. Companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer! This horror MUST be stopped!

Despite strong evidence linking DHMO ingestion with cancer, the Australian Government has refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its supposed “importance to the economic health of the nation.” In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military research facilities receive tons of it through a highly sophisticated underground distribution network. Many store large quantities for later use.

It’s not too late to put an end to the use of DHMO in Australia. By signing this petition, you can help to secure the health and safety of all Australians in the future.

2. Against Danish papers printing blasphemous cartoons

I am against the causing offence to other religions.

In this case the Danish media is causing problems for the common citizens of that country by having Danish products and services boycotted by People of Islamic faith.

We do not need to breed more hatred against the West; we have had too much violence in the last decade.

We want to live in a harmonious society and peace. The Danish media must accept responsibility in which they have caused offence and had initially caused the problem in inciting certain individuals who have passion and love for their faith.

The Danish media is to blame.

3. US Government MUST be held responsible

Around May 15, 2007, the US Military was conducting routine exercises. At some point in these exercises a flare was discharged and a HUGE fire was started in the Pine Barrens of South Jersey. At this present time, 7 pm EST on May 16, 2007, over 13,000 acres of land and approximately 13 homes have been damaged or destroyed.

The government has given people some money to help them out but NO ONE from the government has stepped up to help the local animal shelters that are in the area of this enormous fire, which they (the government) has caused.

I, Kim Dermond, have taken this upon myself to help the animal shelters involved in this horrific fire. I am demanding that the US government help these shelters and the animals monetarily.

4. Say NO to the "Three Strike" law for non-violent offenders

The implementation of the three-strike law has caused a lot of controversy and has negatively affected the quality of life of many; primarily lthose of low socio-economic backgrounds. Because of this law people convicted of non-violent crimes such as burglary, theft, and drug related offenses are serving life sentences. The already challenged families of these indivisduals are left to further suffer without their support.

In the meantime, the policies against powerful criminals and violent offenders remain unchanged. It is another abuse of the already disadvantaged in society.

As a result of this law, U.S. Corrections has grown to a 32 billion dollar industry. It costs an averageof $19,700 per year for a county jail bed and yet only 65% of second strikes and 55% of third strikes are for non-violent or less serious offenses.

5. Road Improvement on C.R. 6812

August 8, 2006

We would like to request that our road at C.R. 6812 (Peanut Valley) be repaved.

I Mary S. Tovar have been a resident here since 1994 and have had the potholes repaired on the surface.

The potholes have caused so much damage that to drive comfortably, we have to drive on the side of the road.

There are many new residents that have moved to the area and we are all tax payers. We feel that our road should be improved and look as good and clean as the roads of the surrounding neighbors.

6. Investigate Directorship of the Good neighbor Settlement House

May 20, 2006

For the pass two years, services at the Good Neighbor Settlement House have greatly deteriorated due to the poor management of employees, facilities and donations.

Programs for children, breakfast for the homeless and other services have declined or ceased to exist for the intended eleigible target population.

Failure to help serve the needs of the poor through lack of disemination and denial of informataion on programs available, such as Counseling, Emergency shelter, rental and deposit Assistance, Moderate Home Rehab and distribution of free house hold needs, such as food, furniture and clothing.

Negligence in the distribution of Postal mail to the homeless.

Abuse of Authority by the Director. Mistreaatment and firing of employees without due process. Overwhelming complaints have caused Public Agencies to cease referrals of clients to serve community service hours. This has caused a reduction of manpower to continue some services.

Using intimidation tactics to ban countless of persons from attendance and participation without due process or cause. Makes threats to close down the services and calls the police to file unjust reports causing reduction of participation for the intended target population.

11. Ban on Handheld Cellphones While Driving in North Carolina

One thousand people die each each year from car accidents caused by people distracted on cell phones. Outlawing the use of handheld cell phones while driving would greatly reduce this number. THis law has already been passed in New York, so it would be wonderful if North Carolina could be the next state to pass such a law.

12. Better Trade Deal for Bangladesh

Bangladesh and India have ended three days of acrimonious trade talks, leaving major disputes unresolved.

A huge trade deficit with its giant neighbour has caused Bangladesh to requested tariff exemptions on 191 items, of which India agreed to 40.

"The duty-free access to 40 items will not make much difference considering the size of the (trade) imbalance," Bangladesh's Commerce Secretary Suhel Ahmed said.

The items range from prepared foods and toiletries to leather products and electrical goods, a joint statement said.

The Bangladesh's trade deficit ballooned to $1.1bn in 2001 from $53.3m in 1985, which has caused growing unease among Bangladeshi exporters.

This petition is on matters concerning the International Transfer of Offenders Treaty. American prison authorities, both federal and state, have for years violated the Transfer of Offender Treaty rights, including the letter of the treaty, with discrimination, denials, injustices, lack of medical treatment, the list is not exhaustive. Our men and women are suffering so much so, that even their family and friends are feeling the atrocities caused by these prison administrators.
