Graft and lack of accountability are the main causes for this Patriotic request. Recent Controller Auditor General (CAG) report for year 2011 implicates four ministries (of Finance, Industry and trade, Natural Resources and Tourism and Transport) to be at the center of serious graft and when the Parliament of Tanzania demanded for the vote of no confidence to be held, ruling party impunity blocked the proceedings and none of the ministers of the implicated ministries have resigned so far.
Yet these ministries have been having bad books for the third year consecutively without any measures taken to curb the vice. The tendency has inflicted a huge loss of over US$ 260 mio. due to embezzlement and another US$ 400 mio. from tax exemption in a country that 29% of its budget depends on donors.
It is a prime time the citizen of Tanzania should start demanding for accountability.
While the President of United Republic of Tanzania seems reluctant to exercise his constitutional power bestowed upon him by the people; it's a crucial time now for the sake of the destiny of our nation, the people of Tanzania should play a Patriotic duty and exercise their constitutional right and demand action on the part of Mr President who is proving to be a liability as far as war on corruption is concerned.
It is a high time for me and you to sign this petition to have a million signatures to submit at the the High Court of Tanzania to demand either a resignation of those eight ministers plus their Prime minister or the resignation of the President himself who seems to be incapacitated or deliberately putting power bestowed upon his office into shambles and hence a constitutional crisis.
Let's safeguard our great nation from collapsing. This is our constitutional obligation!
