During the summer season Geelong have one of the Biggest Cricket competitions. The Geelong Cricket Association (GCA) have funding from Cricket Australia for girls teams but no open age teams in the local competition. As it stands, females over 19 can only play Cricket in the men’s teams.
With AFL Barwon and AFL Victoria supporting the Women’s Football League in Geelong, it’s time for the summer sport Australia loves so much to be brought to a local ground roots level.
As a supporter of the “Girls Make Your Move” Campaign we ask all females interested in a local Geelong cricket competition and their supporters to sign the petition and bring Women’s Cricket to Geelong.
