We want facebook to redevelop their help centre

I have developed this petition upon realising how hard it is to contact facebook, when you experience technical difficulties with your account.

When receiving some error messages upon log in, Facebook does not always display a report button, and the help centre is very vague and does not offer any kind of personal response to help with matter that may not be listed. If you are unable to log in at all, you are not able to contact Facebook directly except through the appeal centre for deactivated accounts, where requests for technical help are ignored and you get nowhere.

We the undersigned would like to ask Facebook for a revised Help Centre, where problems that are not listed can easily be reported, and contact options for those who are struggling to log into their account due to error messages.

Although it is recommended that people back up their data, they often don't, and losing an account that has been built up over a long period of time can be very upsetting. Especially when you know that the account is still live but you are just unable to access it and cannot get the help you need of Facebook. Knowing your data is still out there in cyber space and been unable to control it is extremely worrying and people should have a right to request Technical help when experiencing difficulties accessing your own data.

Anyone who has been in similar situations to myself will understand how upsetting and frustrating this is, and I feel Facebook being as large and sophisticated as it is, should be providing a safety net for people in these situations. Our data should always be accessible by ourselves to change, update and delete as required, without the support to recover accounts this is not happening.
