It is seen where polices and soldiers are taking a huge disadvantage of the authority (power) they have been given throughout this operation. These members of the JDF and JCF are entering into citizen’s houses without permission from the owners, with dangerous weapons, they have the opportunity to lock up citizens up to 3 months (90 days) without providing any answers to family members or anyone that visit. When searching moto vehicles at check points is causes hectic traffic jam and they communicate with citizen impolite.

In the division of Northern St. Catherine, public state of emergency (SOZO) was implemented to hinder crime and violence. However, it is seen where polices and soldiers are taking a huge disadvantage of the authority (power) they have been given throughout this operation. These members of the JDF and JCF are entering into citizen’s houses without permission from the owners, with dangerous weapons and allowing children to become timid. For example, in an inner city within this region, polices and soldiers faces are covered, no identification. A citizen home with his family, a police or solider kick open his door and let themselves in with guns pointing them in his family member’s faces and sometimes he’s taken from the house. Also, they have the opportunity to lock up citizens up to 3 months (90 days) without providing any answers to family members or anyone that visit. If a person is been detained and they are not finically stable nor their family member to afford an attorney to represent that person, the family will not get any answer and that innocent person will not release until 3 months. When searching moto vehicles at check points, they do not monitor the traffic properly which result in hectic traffic jam causing people to be late to go about their daily business and not only that, when they stop these vehicles they are so impolite, using expletives to address the citizens.
This operation (SOZO) must have some form of co-operation among the citizens and the members of the JDF and JCF. One, these members should not be allowed to take citizens who are going about their legitimate business and have them detained for 90 days because of their physical image “cruff”, and these citizens should not be detained without answers been provided if these persons do not have a legal representative. When polices and soldiers are going for a person of interest to have them detained they must do so “respectfully”. By, going to the person’s house, knock on their door and listen for an answer and give the residents that occupied the house a reasonable time to open the door and take away that person “privately” (not in front their children) and detained them within reasonably reasons. These polices and soldiers should be trained to approach citizens politely with manners. For example, when searching vehicles do so respectively and have motorists move along while they continue their operation. A person should not picked up off the road by these members of the JDF nor JCF because of their physical appearance and detained. If a person is picked up they’re supposed to process within 24 hours and release if they are not a person of interest.
