There is little accountability in the military for sexual assaults. When people are found guilty they are often only given a slap on the wrist.
Very few accusations of rape in the military receive the proper attention and the problem is only getting worse.
We, the undersigned, propose that a civilian liaison be assigned to the various military branches to investigate active sexual assault cases to determine if they should be processed in civilian court.
The purpose being to create more accountability and to appropriately address the severity of these cases.
