In Turkish law they apply the "Turkish law of inheritance " which over rides the last will and testament. This leaves non-Turkish people who own property in Turkey in a situation where their children or children from a previous relationship inherit a large proportion of the deceased estate.
This has caused many problems for foreigners in Turkey who have lost their partner and can take many years to sort out.
Many people have had a Turkish will drawn up thinking this will be adhered to after their death.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE.
