Moyle District Council

Moyle District Council rejected a request to include £15,000 in this years budget (Feb 2011) to further progress a Tourism/Leisure facility for the Moyle area. Moyle are the only Council in the North who fail to provide a swimming pool for their ratepayers.

The £15,000 would have been utilised to employ experts to apply for £7.5million available in grant assistance to ensure the project envisaged for the Quay Road, Ballycastle became a reality. Moyle Councillors already committed £85,000 to design and Planning.

If you support the development of this project, please Sign the petition.

We the undersigned call on our Councillors to support the request from their own colleague, to listen to the wishes of the people of Moyle, and indeed, the identified needs of the tourist sector, and start to implement in full a programme that will ensure Ballycastle has a full Tourism-Leisure facility with, swimming pool inclusive, on Quay Road before a Super Council comes into existence.
