"The Terrace @ Marcy Casino" is a wonderful proposal for a public access restaurant that is almost at the finish line for approval from the City of Buffalo.
We are asking city residents to support this proposal that will open up Public access to this amazing Buffalo Landmark and bring in much needed extra revenue for the Olmsted Parks Conservancy.
Here are some details and benefits for your consideration.
1- The Terrace will serve Brunch, Lunch and Dinner service open to the Public on one of the City's most beautiful patios.
2- Projected additional revenue to the conservancy will be between $100k and $200k and will be used entirely for park maintenance and improvements.
3- Hours of operation will conform with park regulations with a last call of 10pm and a one hour grace period for closing.
4- Increased operations and security including cameras will reduce park vandalism and crime. (This proposal has the support of the Buffalo Police Department)
5- Weddings and private events will still be held on the lower level at the Marcy Casino.
6- The restaurant design has been approved by Olmsted's Design and Review committee and is in compliance with all historic conservation efforts.
7- The proposal has been approved unanimously and has the strong support of the BOPC Board of Directors.
8- The Terrace will allow the Public to enjoy a building that has previously only been open for private events.
