he Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has been dedicated to promoting animal welfare and combating animal cruelty since its founding in 1824. Over nearly two centuries, the RSPCA has been a pillar of compassion and advocacy for animals across the United Kingdom. The organization provides shelter, medical care, and rehabilitation for thousands of animals each year, while also working to educate the public about animal welfare issues and advocating for stronger animal protection laws.
We, the undersigned, call on the Minister of Animal Welfare to take immediate action to support the RSPCA in its mission to protect and care for animals in need. The RSPCA is facing significant financial challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in a 25% increase in the number of animals requiring rescue and a 15% decrease in donations.
We urge the government to provide emergency funding and additional resources to the RSPCA to ensure it can continue its vital work. This support is essential to safeguard the welfare of animals and maintain the organization's ability to serve our communities effectively.
By signing this petition, we express our strong support for the RSPCA and demand that the Minister of Animal Welfare take decisive action to ensure the continued operation and success of this critical organization.
