North Carolina House Representative Larry Pittman has sponsored HB 463, "AN ACT TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY AND TO PROVIDE FOR SIX ELECTORAL DISTRICTS AND ONE AT-LARGE SEAT FOR THAT BOARD".

Many Citizens of Cabarrus County have indicated a desire to increase the size of the Cabarrus County Commissioners Board in an effort to have better representation for all areas of Cabarrus County.

In light of recent articles in the Independent Tribune (Cabarrus among nation’s fastest-growing counties) about the growth of our county this is certainly an idea whose time has come.

It is important that we let Representatives Linda Johnson, Carl Ford and Larry Pittman know that we support this bill and we need to tell the current Cabarrus County Commissioners that this is something we want each of them to embrace and support as well. In order to make that much easier we would like to ask everyone to please sign this petition. In addition we encourage you to share this petition with everyone you know in Cabarrus County and help us get this change made so all Cabarrus County voters voices and their interests might be better represented.

We, the undersigned, wish to express our support for HB 463 and encourage Representatives Linda Johnson, Larry Pittman and Carl Ford to work toward it's passage during the 2015 legislative session.

In addition we encourage the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners to embrace and support this bill to increase the number of seats on the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners to seven and it's provisions for setting up District Representation across Cabarrus County.
