A special permit application has been submitted to the Pepperell Board of Selectmen by Janet Cramb of 17 Park Street. If granted, this permit will allow an 8 bedroom rooming house at 17 Park Street (2 bathrooms and a kitchen to be shared by all residents). It is understood that in all likelihood there will be no resident management.
It is our opinion that this development will significantly change the character of our neighborhood, and will have a detrimental impact on all community residents including a decrease in our property values.
We, the undersigned, respectfully call upon the Pepperell Board of Selectmen to deny the Special Permit application to convert 17 Park St, Pepperell into a rooming house. We feel a rooming house at this location will cause:
- Substantial detriment to the neighborhood character and social structure.
- Fiscal impact to the town tax base and property values in the community.
