The City Council of Fort Myers, Florida is considering a law that would place restrictions on feeding the less fortunate in public. The law would contain the following:
• Restrict distribution of donated or complimentary food in city parks.
• Require any gathering of 10 or more people in a city park to obtain city approval, fill out a special-event application and comply with other provisions that can include cleanup and security.
• Each applicant is limited to two permits per year.
We, the undersigned, call on the City Council of Fort Myers, Florida, to not pass a law restricting the distribution of donated or complimentary food in City Parks.
