Town Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe wants to pass an ordinance that would require all bully breed type dog owners to muzzle their pets when they are walking them in public because of an incident where an unleashed dog was attacked by a Shar-Pei/Pitbull mix. A muzzle law on a specific breed is not the answer. It is discrimination. Responsible ownership is the answer. Leash laws must be adhered to. Punishing responsible dog owners is unfair to the person and their pet.
Educate yourself on the breed of dog before you bring it home. Stop BSL! Education is the key! The bully breeds are a loving and loyal breed. Punish the deed. Not the breed!
We, the tax paying residents of Bristol Boro, call on Ralph DiGuiseppe to rethink this town muzzling ordinance of bully type breeds. It is discrimination at its best.
This will not solve any dog aggression issues because ALL dogs have the ability to be aggressive. You are targeting a specific breed for your own personal reasons.
Hold the irresponsible owners at fault NOT a whole breed of dog!
