There are recent reports indicating that the Cook Is government will undermine the integrity of our nation's immigration system, by recruiting foreign workers to work in our small nation in the future. The plan, if introduced, will exploit the Labor Mobility scheme (for Pacific countries) by recruiting workers directly from Fiji, the Philippines and other nations. The scheme has no basis to apply to the Cooks, and should never be entertained in anyway by the Puna government. This petition urges our people to stop this madness by asking government not to adopt this or any proposed resolution that allow the recruitment of foreigners to work in our country.
This is a petition intended to stop the Cook Islands government from approving any resolution or plan, to recruit foreign workers under the Pacific labor scheme.
