In January 2011, the PUD was approved for a 94 bed Skilled Nursing Facility, a 48-bed memory care facility, and 12 independent living cottages. In 2015 the PUD was amended to eliminate the Skilled Nursing Facility and replace it with a 44-unit low-income multi-family complex that is now breaking ground.

As a residential community with many pedestrians, families, dog walkers and bicyclists that love the Virginia Lake our safety is in jeopardy if approved.

Reno City Council,

I am opposed to the Sierra Senior Care PUD Amendment LDC16-00069. I, my family, my children or my pets use Virginia Lake Park, the Children's Park or the Dog Park or walk the surrounding streets.

The proposed 70-bed Skilled Nursing and Rehab facility, whose main entrance would be directly across the street from the Children's Park, will adversely affect my safety, the safety of my family, of my children or of my pets. It will also adversely affect our peaceful enjoyment of the adjacent parks and neighborhood.

For our safety and for our peaceful enjoyment of these City of Reno parks, please reject this Proposed PUD Amendment.
