Protest against the South Australian Parliament’s House of Assembly for passing a defamatory motion.

South Australian Parliament’s House of Assembly passed a motion on April 30, 2009 recognizing the so-called “genocide by the Ottoman State between 1915-1923 of Armenians, Hellenes, Syrian and other minorities in Asia Minor” is one of the greatest crimes against humanity.

This defamatory resolution also calls on the Australian Federal Parliament officially to condemn the so-called genocide.

We, the undersigned, declare that by adopting one sided resolutions, just observing the pains of Christians and deliberately closing eyes to the pains of Muslims and other massacred peoples in history, South Australian Parliament’s House of Assembly would endanger the harmony between Australians of different faiths and ethnicities, especially targeting the friendship between Turks, Greeks and Armenians of this country coming through a 1000 years.

As every nation has dark, as well as bright pages in history, no parliament dares judge other people, especially in a discriminative way.

We, the undersigned, request the South Australian Parliament’s House of Assembly to retract this defamatory, discriminating resolution immediately and apologize the Turkish Community of Australia for its one sided resolution against the fathers of the Turks of this beautiful land.
