We are refugees registered with the United Nations who have lived in Türkiye for many years under extremely difficult and unsafe conditions. Following the closure of UNHCR offices, responsibility for our cases was transferred to the Turkish Directorate of Migration Management, which has resulted in widespread case rejections and prolonged uncertainty.
We are living in inhumane conditions without the right to work, financial assistance, health insurance, or access to adequate medical care. Many refugees, including women and children, are being detained in removal centers and forcibly deported despite facing serious risks and having no safe conditions for return to their countries of origin.
As refugees under the mandate of the United Nations, not the Government of Türkiye, we urgently request direct UNHCR review of our cases, immediate international intervention, and the restoration of UNHCR’s active role in protecting refugees in Türkiye in accordance with international refugee law.

Urgent Request for UNHCR Review and Protection of Refugee Cases in Türkiye
We are refugees registered with the United Nations who have lived in Türkiye for many years under extremely difficult conditions. Since the UNHCR office has been closed, responsibility for our cases has been transferred to the Turkish Directorate of Migration Management. As a result, many cases have been rejected, while others remain unresolved for long periods.
We live in inhumane conditions without the right to work, financial assistance, health insurance, or adequate medical care. Many refugees are being sent to removal centers and forcibly deported, despite facing serious risks and having no safe conditions for return.
As refugees under the mandate of the United Nations, not the Government of Türkiye, we respectfully request that our cases be reviewed directly by the UN. Many well-documented cases have been rejected, placing us at imminent risk of deportation.
We urgently ask for UN intervention, immediate reconsideration of our cases, and the restoration of UNHCR’s role in protecting refugees in accordance with international refugee law.
