The greater Shakerag area currently consists of wooded country roads and pastoral fields. A developer has applied for a zoning change to allow them to develop the 205 acre Embry Farm into a 374 home development including multi-family units. There is a Public Hearing meeting June 7th at 7 p.m. at Town Hall to hear the citizen reaction to this high-density development that is completely out of character with the existing developments on Rogers Circle.

We the undersigned, call on the Johns Creek City Council and leadership to SUPPORT the proposed new Comprehensive Plan and the density it recommends and recognizes as appropriate for the Shakerag area. Given the pending adoption of the new Comprehensive Plan, we ask that any new zoning application that is not consistent with the pending Comp Plan be denied.
As our Mayor says - Johns Creek aspires to be exceptional. Let's be the exception that says NO to higher density development and the creation of more traffic delays.
We have such an amazing asset in the Shakerag area. Fantastic views and vistas, the wonderful Chatt River corridor and its ecosystem, Embry Farm and other historic property, etc...Shakerag is an asset other communities in the Metro area dream about. Let's Save It!
We voice our support for the new JC Comprehensive Plan and preservation of Shakerag that it recommends. By doing this, the Johns Creek community will be assured that Shakerag will be "the jewel of the Metro Area" as described in the new Comp Plan.
