Recent crime statistics for Leighton-Linslade have shown a rise of 15.2% in April to June 2013 compared to April to June 2012.
This petition is being promoted by individual Town Councillors in Leighton-Linslade from all political parties.
We the undersigned believe that Leighton Buzzard should retain a permanent police presence, with warranted Police Officers (not just PCSOs) starting and ending their shifts in the town, and with a manned counter during normal working hours.
Furthermore, we believe that the changes implemented in October 2012 (with Police Officers starting and ending shifts in Luton) has had a detrimental impact on the town.
