Sacked at the end of the season to make way for Roy Keane. No complaints!
There is a growing feeling amongst the Ipswich Town community that Jim Magilton, though a great servant to the club, and his hattrick against Bolton will always be cherished by me at least, simply is not up to the job. He does not have the contacts to attract the much needed signings to propel us to the Premiership, nor the tactical naus to navigate the club up the table.
I'm sorry Jim, but this is a great little club, and it deserves a manager who is better able to take us back where we belong. As it has been said on various boards etc., your blood may be blue, but that is not enough.
We, the undersigned, call upon the Board of Ipswich Town Football Club, and the owner, Marcus Evans, to remove Jim Magilton from his position as Manager of our beloved club.
We believe that though his heart is in the right place, he is simply not the manager that the club needs, and unfortunately that this is a necessary step to help Ipswich get back to the Premiership.
