Review The Speed Limit Along The San Fernando Bye Pass and South Trunk Roads

The speed limit has recently been reviewed for many of our major roads and highways. Since the increase there has not been any significant increase in road accidents and fatalities. The San Fernando Bye Pass Road and South Trunk Road are in most instances dual carriage ways and are perhaps the second most significant arterial roads in the south only after the major highways. The San Fernando Bye Pass Road and South Trunk Road has a significant acquired road reserve generally in excess of 60m.
If a survey is done one will find that the general safe driving habit on this road is approximately 80km/hr. Thie speed limit should be set at 80km/hr. I am asking, that the users of this road, including those who have been ticketed for driving just over 50km/hr, sign this petition so that the Government and in particular Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport can have enough significant opinions from the drivers who use this road on a daily basis.
