The unadopted access road to Rivermead School has become a dangerous environment for the children at school opening and closing times.
Having carried out several observations of the movements of traffic and children at these times and witnessing some near misses, it is clear that for the safety of the children, that traffic should be prohibited at these times.
As parents of children at Rivermead School we would like to petition Wokingham Borough Council to take active steps toward helping make the approach to the school a safer environment to the vulnerable young children going into and coming out of the school grounds.
We would like the use of the road to be prohibited at the times the children are accessing and exiting the school on health and safety grounds, between 0820-0910 and 1430-1530.
Please support this petition BEFORE a child is seriously hurt.
