Luke Elliott Sommer is currently in the United States of America and we would like to see him returned to Canada to be close to his friends and family to help support him.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who are petitioning on behalf of Luke Elliott Sommer starting this 30th day of April, 2012.
We believe that his diagnosis of Rapid Cycle Bipolar Disorder and his Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (which resulted from serving as a US Army Ranger in Iraq and Afghanistan) which was determined while in US custody confirms his need to be closer to his family and friends in his native country of Canada.
We believe that since being properly medicated he has had good behavior and that he poses no danger to your country, our country or our community.
We recognize that his mental health issues would be best served with family and friends who are more readily available to visit and support him on the Canadian side of the boarder.
We respectfully believe the courts and the powers that be should allow him under the treaty transfer program to he returned to Canada.
