Reforming Abuse and Murder by Prison Staff

people in prison are 3 times more likely to be killed by police than white people, and 1.3x more likely to be unarmed than white people. It is sad to see that such a horrible thing is already happening and the world must still apply race.
Women are also a huge target for rape and murder in prison. This is mostly because the majority of cops and prison guards are male in The United States. A small-scale study found that about 83% of women incarcerated have experienced sexual assault and rape in their sentences. Of that 83%, 53% of them have lifetime post-traumatic stress disorder because of the events. Many women who have gone through situations and have struggled with these events in their lifetime are scared to publicly come out with their stories, because of the shame people have gotten when they do come out. Imagine how many women out their who have been or still are in jail have a story only they know, many more than you would think
In conclusion, it is greatly appreciated if you, the reader, are to sign this petition and help stop prison abuse by staff. In state and federal prisons nationwide, about 4 percent of the 1.5 million+ adult inmates, have experienced some form of sexual abuse or rape against them. Inmates all over the world are dealing with the hardship of overcoming a sexual assault/rape experience. Inmates who have dealt with murder and the killing of another inmate have it even worse to overcome. prison abuse is just getting worse, that is why it needs to end NOW.
