Our youth have access to gaming environments and game strategies that reward gun violence and the taking of human life. The ratings system for games should be modified to prevent purchase and allowable usage of games depicting the taking of human life by any means for anyone under the age of 18. These types of repeated exposures desensitize young minds to violence and the sanctity of human life and imprint the acceptability of violence as a coping mechanism and problem solving avenue.
We the undersigned call on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) to modify their rating system to restrict any depiction of non cartoon intense violence, prolonged scenes of intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, strong language and/or gambling with real currency to the AO (ADULTS ONLY) rating category.
