The conduct of Marshall Diell & Myers Limited (MDM) in Bermuda matrimonial matters

I have experienced the conduct of MDM first hand in a contentious matrimonial setting and I believe they acted in a way that amounts to professional misconduct. At no stage in the process did MDM appear to want to arrive at a fair and reasonable outcome, nor did they consider the implications of their actions and advice on the young children involved. Rather they conducted a take-no-prisoners strategy that was quite prepared to use young children as leverage within the divorce process to satisfy their end-game. Their conduct and strategy over-complicated and extended the divorce process thereby allowing MDM to maximize their legal fees. I have had many conversations over the last 24 months with divorced couples in Bermuda and also experts within the Bermuda child welfare community who have raised similar concerns to me about the conduct of MDM.
We the undersigned call on both the Bermuda Bar Association and the Bar Counsel of England and Wales to investigate the conduct of Marshall Diell & Myers Limited, as it relates to matrimonial disputes in Bermuda in which they have acted, to determine if their actions amount to unprofessional behavior and / or professional misconduct.
